The order is dated 6 May, one day before the initial strikes. Why is it only coming out now? 3 days deferred release of official info to media by GoI orders? Is this authentic? When was the last time TA was activated like this?

And I forget the TA orbat, but aren't many TA units departmental? Are those the ones being activated for security of critical installations? Because of I remember right, TA Railways units had been disbanded recently.

Good post, In addition, what on earth is the paki's motivation and objective?

Paki terrorists and now military have attacked across the whole Western border, killing multiple civilians. There is no need for restraint and playing defence only.

Only a disproportionate cost will act as some form of deterrance. Why limit reaction to "proportionate"? It's good that at least targets in pakjab were attacked, but so far only "terrorist" hideouts, but it's time to fuck up military targets. Civilians should also be targeted (if Indian gov can stomach the international backlash). Indian gov shouldn't care about perception as foreign media is never on Indian side anyway, so just go for it.

From the Iterated Prisoner's Dilemma, tit for tat is the most robust and successful strategy (also from the iterated PD altruistic behaviour is evolved).

It is fake news, because with such a huge reserve force, no one will take the headache of hiring conscripts.

Conscripts are hired only when sending the last policeman or homeguard becomes infeasible.
We are incredibly long long away from that day or ever will be.

May 6-7 night initial attack by India. Confirmation in morning. Heavy shelling by pak causing civilian deaths

May 7-8 night pak attack on many cities foiled.

May 8 morning India attacked using drones, targeting even military infra.

May 8-9 night pak attacks lot border districts using drones and missiles, foiled again. Lot of news about major Indian action like karachi port burned, lahore , islamabad bombed. Indian navy in action.

May 9 morning, right now very little information pak seems to have cut their internet. Indian media notified again not to show operational details

Modi has not announced any new mass program or planning to attend some bollywood meet, so, i doubt anything special would happen.

From now on, we should always look for signs, if Modi is in a culturl program excessively smiling or announcing something else would happen, that's out hint to wear helmets.

Seriously, none of you have seen DD days?
Crisp news, rightly done, 2-3 times a day was so powerful. That's what the Govt now wants you to "trust".

One example - I got call from worried neighbour parent today morning at 6am whether to send kid to school. Both of them are consistently watching Peepublic in such a loud volume that we can hear the news inside our home. Also, seems like someone had sent them a whatsapp fwd that all ncr schools are closed. Govt is possibly now realising this largesse given to alternate sources of news is causing harm and panic and has come down heavily.
