Kindly don't post that retard's tweets here, he was the same guy who alleged officers intentionally pick defective foreign maal (including helmets) + send troops to their deaths so that more of them die leading to more gallantry awards for their respective regiment - and he claimed this was told to him by a "friend who tried to sell military hardware to the Indian Army."

He was posting a lot of other demoralizing fake BS too without knowing anything, and then this tweet finally pushed things over the edge with Hellfire taking notice - the fucking coward deleted his account and disappeared until this situation happened and he suddenly reappeared to farm likes and follows. He's a piece of shit, no two ways about it.

I for once don't agree with the government stance on information blackout. We should be providing at least decent updates (not operational), even if not, at least periodic press conferences to calm the nerves of the people. Even as small as saying ops are ongoing, not to worry etc. is also fine. This is how a govt. relates to the people.

GOI should know that normal people get scared way too easily, they are not used to war and casualties. If there is an information vacuum, TRP hungry news channels will fill it up with outrageous claims which will do more harm than good.

Ultimately, the outcome should be shown in a very positive light for India so that it doesn't hamper election prospects in the future.

For peeps disagreeing with this, just think as a normal civilian not used to any kind of war. You see flashes going in the sky and dont know what to make of it. Are we under attack? Is something wrong? There is no one to pacify except some notification of stay at home, keep the lights off. People will assume worst.

Again you are thinking from your perspective. I think the general populace as I am seeing is too scared and worried on what is going on. Perhaps increasing the frequency of press conferences or official communications can help. Nothing spectacular is required but helps connect with the people as well.

In DFI we know what is going on but the average Indian has no clue.

So to add to this, we have not wasted expensive missile stock of S-400 or even MRSAM with AESA seeker on such cheap drones and even Haft SRBM missile fired by Pakistanis and still got them all destroyed.

Ofcourse, no S400 was used. Why is this surprising for some folks? If you are a noob with respect to understanding military technology I can understand. It is simple common sense, why would we use S400 for small drones and missiles? It is like using a gun to kill mosquitos. You want to kill mosquitos use a swatter. Only thing here is Akash is no swatter it is perfectly capable of engaging all targets whether it's fighter aircrafts, missiles, or drones as long as it's radar can track. But range of Akash SAM is close to 30-50km. The real range is secret ofcourse. It is cheaper than S400 so it was used to great effect yesterday.

Our multi layer defense system is perfect. If we are dependent on one system to intercept everything the costs would have been astronomical. Thankfully, DRDO has made rapid advances in SAMs and BMD. We have a project called "Kusha" coming up by 2030 to replace S400. This will supplement other SAM systems. Given yesterday's performance expect India's missile defense to be one of the most advanced systems in the world. In fact, IAF has already ordered 5 squadrons even before it's deployment.
