I have two theories on this
1. They want to exhaust aur AD in Jammu and enter through this gap.

IMO, Modi did not anticipate such arrogance/persistence from Pakistan, he totally miscalculated the Pakistani response. He planned it out more like a repeat of the "Surgical Strike" when both sides claimed victory and went on their separate ways. Only at a bigger scale, with publicly visible explosions.

This time, Pakistan wants to extract an hefty price so as to stop India from repeating such incursions in future. Also, some external actor is feeding Pakistan's war machine, just like Ukraine. The goal is to have a prolonged low-intensity conflict in this region.

This time, our national strength and will is going to get tested. If we win it decisively, we will establish ourselves as the undisputed hegemon in the region.

What makes you think Modi and GoI didn't game this?? Modi doesn't get into war, if hes not sure he can win.

We're mostly responding with 40mm tracer rounds as far as cheap Turkish drones go.

Not wanting to sound pedantic, we dont use tracer rounds to take down targets in the sense you wrote. Tracer rounds are mixed in with regular rounds, like every 5 or 6 rounds there is a tracer. Tracers are like regular bullets except they glow so the gunner knows which direction the bullets are flying to. No one uses only tracers as AA.

Yes even on social media on tiktok india is being peddled as a aggressor and those Palestinians,kpop,islamists,pakis etc trolls are posting hate india videos even nris and woke indians are also bashing indian govt.Its high time indian govt go for some usa lobbies who can stop this.We can make pakistan pay by starting 2 front war for pakistan by engaging afghans and baloch.

Now I am getting irritated with this defensive posturing. Atleast give them a proportionate reply if not disproportionate.

Maybe that's the goal. Too many peaceniks in the country. The South has not seen proper war in....ages. East has seen Bangladesh. North sees it every time.

My point is, I can understand the political compulsion. India can stop the attacks with its current power but then it risks normalising it. You need something momentous to shift every possible citizen towards loss-heavy, aggressive war. We want the people from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to be irritated. We want kids and olds from Manipur to Meerut absolutely done with Pakis.

The mindset needs to shift from killing terrorists to killing Pakistanis. Not an easy prospect for the previous generation.
