All these prophecies of demise of PAF if the op had continued for a few more days is simply wrong. We had been very careful in our targeting approach. We showed Pak our intent and capability but didn’t go all the way. Only a few were allotted for each target. We were extra careful. We could have destroyed most of the parked aircrafts in any airbase but we chose not to. Modi didn’t want to escalate from the very first day. Our striking of Pak military targets and imp airbases were meant for de escalation. Escalate to de escalate. Modi never had intentions of destroying the offensive capabilities of the PAF and PA. So if the strikes had continued for few more days, Pak would have targeted the same airbases they had done earlier. We would have shot down their missiles and then we would have launched 2-3 at each of their airbases. This cycle would have continued a few times until Pak ran low on their missiles and munitions. But the offensive capability of Pak would have remained more or less intact.If Modi even had the slightest intention of denting Pak's conventional war fighting capabilities we would have destroyed multiple HAS at some of these targeted airbases. But we chose to hit some symbolic targets within the airbases. After each round of attacks, our Sec of External Affairs were busy emphasising the fact that we were only retaliating to Paki strikes and we have no intention whatsoever for further escalation. In order to achieve something, you first need to have the proper intentions. In our case, that intention was missing from day one. We kept on providing Pakis with an off ramp. We are fortunate enough that instead of de escalating napakis chose to escalate and provides us with the opportunity to hit them even harder. Had the Pakis been somewhat clever , they would have stopped retaliating after our May 6-7th strikes and whatever we had hit and destroyed so far wouldn't have happened. If we had the slightest intention of really punishing Pakistan, we would have destroyed some field ammunition dumps and hit one of their missile storage complexes after the Pakis tried to hit our forward ammo dumps and alleged missile garrison in Beas. But we didn't do any such thing. We struck three more airbases with a token no of air launched cruise missiles and called it a day. So, even if this op were to continue for another two days, nothing much would have changed besides few more strikes on these same bases and maybe a few other mil installations. We had ample opportunities of sending their Navy to Davy Jones locker. But we squandered it and instead kept on doing missile firing drills in the Arabian sea. We kept on issuing notam after notam for naval firings in the Arabian sea. We could have hit a single frigate of theirs to let them know that we mean business. But we chose not to. Our entire policy was based on escalate to de escalate. The armed forces were ready and raring to go. Only the go ahead command was missing from Modi. This is not an era of war mindset has to go first if we want to teach Pak a lesson or defang and de militarise Pakistan.

That's not true. At 6 am, they launched an air raid in Srinagar and launched Fatah missiles. That was the provocation for bombing these airbases.
