J-10c is no slouch ,it carries aesa just like rafale with similar rcs.

Have you been living in a cave, bro? Have you seen the figures, how dramatically the manufacturing and production of industries of ALL scales have increased since this government came to power? Don't be so naive, man. Fuck even empirical data, this conflict itself should have told you that we have progressed by leaps and bounds in defence manufacturing and investment. India is rife with JVs of all kinds, not just defense, selling products around the world. Apple just announced that they're moving their manufacturing ops from China to India. You can't possibly deny all of this. Please stop peddling this Congress propaganda if that is what you're doing. And if you're genuinely mis-informed then please educate yourself with empirical data.

Some thoughts and analysis backed by empirical data:

Mfg net has kept on increasing since liberalization.
Mfg as a % of GDP is the lowest in 60-70 yrs.

If you go to CMIE, you possibly are going to get more data which will tell you that despite PLI etc, industrialists are not doing capex. The data source was referred to long time back by someone who advises the Govt of India on finance and is the de-facto source for analysts like me or anyone who does an MBA.

Good work done in last 10-12 years, but that has been undone by 'dekho no money's approach of the govt or services at times and small orders which do not lead to capacity expansion. For example,
1. Baba Kalyani's factory in Pune can produce 1 Howitzer per day. Orders = 0
2. Adani's factory in Kanpur can produce millions of artillery and bullets per year, Orders less than 5% of capacity.
3. BEL/BDL production of Akash has been same 60 missiles per month since 2009. Orders have been placed in trickle manner
4. In a peculiar case, Govt. attempt to get Pvt sector to manufacture fighters failed (4-5 yrs back) as no industrialist showed interest. I think it was PPP model. Reason, they were not sure if orders will come after industrial setup.

So you see, it's a mixed bag and possibly one of the biggest worry of the govt. I am not sure what you are reading but pls do check the sources I have quoted. DM me if you need more sources.

We have done well but relatively speaking comparing to china ,turkey etc we are nowhere in producing high value complex subsystems.

Unless we do that we can't be self reliant ,if a war happens out manufacturing should be able to replace everything.Currently it cannot.

China, yes, I agree. Turkey, a resounding no.
Also, that is what I mentioned in my post prior to this, that we need to invest in indigenous critical technologies. At this point, we are still quite dependent on imports for our military. If we can reach self-reliance for battle-critical systems and reduce turnaround times for damaged equipment asap, that'll give us a massive edge. Then we can work towards more complex tech (we are already working in almost all complex subsystems) over the next decade.

Damage assessment and detailed briefing is done after the operation.. It was not right to be very detailed in the middle of a near war..

From the press conference it seems we might have lost some platforms but our pilots are back home safe and objectives have been met .. On pakistan side there has been several losses during combat (apart from losses in air bases ) .. Did nt give any numbers , he said I have the number but would nt like to disclose now . You ll know in course of time .

I would like to add , losses of platforms nt a big deal for us . We have enough resources to just buy dozen more . So it does nt matter . I don't know why some people take it so personal. Loc is probably one of the world's most protected air space . And we entered and gave them a beating . In 1965 when we were not so well off economically they had destroyed our airbase in pathankot and took out 10 aircrafts . At the end of the day we own .
