Up until the evening of 23rd February, 2024, nobody seriously believed that the Russians would invade a brother country that was Ukraine and merely considered it as a sabre rattling move to intimidate the Europeans. What happened the next day is history. Likewise, what we did in the last 5 days was unthinkable since 1971.

There is a very strong ambition among the Chinese to re-integrate Taiwan. They think of it as a territory denied to them during the Chinese civil war. It's not a coincidence that they extended the hand of peace last year in the Himalayas to us while ramping up hostilities in South East Asia, particularly among the countries it shares a sea border with in the South China Sea. They've ramped up vessel production to surpass the USN in numbers. Something will happen sooner rather than later.
