I have always had two concerns with an actual war.

Once the cost escalates, Indians will start crying and demanding ceasefire.

China will not miss the opportunity to roll in and capture more land.

Your overestimate Indians and underestimate China.

There is no reason for China to not take advantage in case of any serious conflict.

I'm not arguing to not invade Porkland but be ready for all situations.

If you are trying to be a realist then here is a reality for you. Like before this attack, we were not focussed on porkies and kept an eye on China, similarly China doesn't factor us in and cares more about USA.

They are looking to emerge as the global superpower and a fight will India, no matter how costly for us, will leave them with a broken bloody nose as well. And poof goes all dreams of replacing USA.

If people are worried about our economy tanking in the aftermath of this porki war, what do you think will happen to China's economy after a war with India?

Also, re-unification of Taiwan is more important to them than solving whatever border issues we have. That's small peanuts in their larger national scheme of things. They poke us occasionally to drain our resources, test us, or divert us from the west but I don't see any logical reason why they will fight us as of today.

Obviously the emotions are high right now. The question is will it sustain in the case of a sustained conflict.

Let's be real, for any US support, we will need to make concessions in the trade deal. China has every incentive to try and pressureize us for preventing trade deal with the US. The only tool they really have is threat of taking advantage of us being involved in a conflict on the western front.

No one knows for certain, my point is merely it's prudent to be aware and prepared.

It will be cost benefit analysis of how much China will need to lose to gain more Indian territory.

The question is not of cost to China, its of the potential cost of us.

What's our plan in case China does try mischief while we are focused on Porkland?

Do we have enough for both fronts?
