One of the group of Congress or Congress leaning individuals who do see certain issues as bipartisan. Like retaliating for Pahalgam. Instead of playing party politics, and finding fault with everything, just because the BJP is in power. Vir Sanghvi and Shashi Tharoor, much as we may disagree with them sometimes, also display similar common sense and maturity on issue like these.

What has happened in the last few days (without propaganda) :

• Pakistan has panicked and moved large amount of armour & troops forward position.
• Indian tri-services are ready but due to information blackout our readiness cannot be verified (or I won't verify).
• ONLY small arms fire exhanced between Pakistani & Indian BoP in J&K along LoC as well as IB. No casaulties reported on either side.
• Pakistan vacated forward BoPs today and pulled down their flags. While some members are getting happy (that they surrendered), the reality is likely they are planning for large-scale artillery strikes on our BoPs and forward areas.
• CAPs are active and hot. Pakistan says they intercepted Rafale's flying over J&K (duhh...)
• PMC hired by some people in Pakistan, unclear who.

If IA is moving towards the border it could be a pre emptive measure or a ruse to deflect from action elsewhere or & this is interesting , it could be a variation of our Cold Start Doctrine.

Of the 3 aforementioned scenarios I find 2 & 3 to be more plausible than 1 coz I don't think Paxtan has the wherewithal to launch an invasion from Punjab of all places.

Further if it is 3 we're looking at this is a massive escalation. I can't see how this isn't a war as opposed to a strike & a counter strike , if required or a continuous low intensity conflict. There's also a chance we could get caught up in a lengthy war of attrition.

I wouldn't mind that too if we didn't have the Chinese sword dangling over our heads.Hence let's hope it's 2.

This is all Chinese mischief. China's growth has slowed and it might never surpass USA as was expected.

In tariff wars, don't want India to become manufacturing hub. India grows for next 15 years and have manufacturing capabilities especially defense, China will face super formidable foe in India along with your USA, Japan, Australia etc near it's sea.

So want to bog India down. Pakistani generals don't give a f about casualties. China will keep them supplied and do indirect mischief on eastern front.

Rather don't strike directly, just do sabre rattling. We can also do proxy wars (and have).

Use BLA/TTP/unknown gunmen to strike. Maybe CPEC and Chinese citizens along with CIA aid. And dam etc stuff.

Thing is if India are super strong by 2040 (4 aircraft carriers, more submarines, 6th gen fighters etc) and the CPEC is not done India and USA can just do a naval blockade of oil etc.

I am/was convinced the Indian side was happy to just suck it up, do some nothing attack like 2016/19 and move on as they have economic and political issues they’d rather focus on and there doesn’t seem to be too much domestic anger boiling up

I will say something which most people may not agree with but India's Military Industrial Complex won't be ready until 2035 for any action of this sort.

GoI seems to be aware of this and will probably not escalate this tension much. It is in our long term interest to wait this one and strike through other means.

The issue is you are always aiming at a moving target. It’s easy to say by x dare we will have the power to act

Arguably in 2019 you could’ve said the same about 2025- S400, Rafale, LCA, Arihant etc etc all will be online by then

Like I said the biggest issue I have is India’s inability to surgically target its enemies. The guys that were pulling down civilian (and let’s not forget service men) trousers last week are STILL breathing

Ya'll Nibbiats the one month of threats without any military action will exhaust Pakistan's fuel reserves, foreign currency reserves and any willingness to fight.

I am only afraid Pakistan may attack India pre emptively as it knows it cant sustain battle readiness for more than a month. And We can sustain much longer of it given our resources.

Roll out a new punitive action for Pakistan every day (banning flights, objecting to IMF loans etc), get them so rabid they do something really stupid like a preemptive strike then hit them back 5x harder but at places that will ruin them for years (ports, dual use infrastructure etc) and let the world run to their defence. Job done.

We also need to prioritize artillery where pakis clearly have an upper hand. We have world class products from Kalyani's stable and we need those in numbers, not hundreds but thousands along with UCAVs

This should be a lesson to them that India needs massive depth and scale from domestic sources
