The family of each victim is to get about 10 lakhs from the government of J&K and NSE donated 1 crore in financial aid (to be divided among the victims, which makes it some 3-4 lakhs). LIC is also looking to settle claims quickly which is also a huge relief when you consider how long it can take for insurance claims to get settled (speaking from personal experience). The home states of the victims might also give further compensation when their remains are brought back.

From the SM I've browsed, Indian liberals seem to be supporting India, just asking for Indian Muslims to be left alone though. This is a win. Now, The wind have definitely changed blaming it on security failure is will not suffice. People are asking for why should not the local community own it? Why are locals collaborating with the murderers? No one is buying the security failure. Once in a while it happens. Even a good cricketer who is well set will get out. So blaming security is not enough. Local collaborators should also be questioned. Local community should also be taken to task.
