Think about it... What better way to distract us from wrapping up the trade deal with Trump this summer and moving consumer tech supply chains and other low hanging fruits like shoes, sneakers, textiles ityadi where US companies are keen to move out of Vietnam, BD and Cheen.

Having said that, I'd rather we go for an aar-ya-paar ki ladaai this time and khatam karo this nautanki once and for all. Need to be ready, as a people, to absorb the blow... We may lose a 1000-2000 men and material damage to our industrial base... But we'd have defanged terroristan (hopefully broken into 3-4 pieces) and we will come out on the other side of the tandav as a nation others will take seriously.

There is no China angle to this whole episode. Our side should stop hallucinating about tool kits, ekonomy and great games whenever the slightest incident takes place. Padosis and trashmiri terrorists have enough agency to act by themselves.

The real strategists are calm and collected. Even on this thread, people need to understand that the only viable way to destroy a country from its roots is to rot its economy into oblivion. We've seen the US try and do a military takeover and what the consequences have been. We are the people of Kautilya. The steps that have been taken till now will choke Pakistan in the next 10 years if they don't fix themselves. Then they won't have even the most basic natural resources. That's the real game here. And there will be substantial kinetic action, possibly to take back PoK, and done in a way that dwarfs whatever Pakistan can retaliate with so that the Pakistani terror apparatus is shamed and essentially rendered crippled, both in terms of public support and capability. And something of this nature has to be a very calibrated military action. The nuclear deterrent always has to be kept in mind. We, in our jingoism assume that Paki warheads in Chinese missiles are worthless but military strategists cannot afford that luxury.

There is a larger geopolitical game brewing here. But the game doesn't predate the attack, rather, it is counting on India's retaliation to the attack. Remember, China has the BRO projects running through PoK that give China an alternative land route to a port (Karachi) in the event that the Strait of Malacca is blocked. Shutting down that major logistical pathway can pay massive strategic dividends to the US in a confrontation with China, which btw, is also brewing.
China certainly knows this, but in the current geopolitical climate, it is choosing to consolidate its economic interests rather than protect a Plan B.

If retaliation does not occur, larger terrorist attacks are likely to happen in the future. Continuous terrorist attacks cause far greater loss of life and economic damage than a full-scale war ever would.

It's quite obvious.

1. Modi has to cater to the rising sentiment of the majority of his masses.
2. Modi has built a reputation for acting on his word. And Pakistan, from past experience, knows that they can expect a massive retaliation. Modi's speech also has geopolitical implications. All these have thrown Pakistan into a frenzy, making them burn money and fuel they already don't have. Their "wazir-e-azam" has had to go begging to China for 1.4 billion again.

Modi's speech did exactly what it was meant to do.

These are exactly the points I made in an analysis I did a few pages back. I completely agree with you!
And I am certain that kinetic action is coming. Everything that Modi and his men have been doing since that attack points to only one thing. But it also shows that whatever is going to happen is going to be a highly calibrated and well-thought-out operation.
I want to reiterate that the speed and accuracy of the escalation are paramount here. It's two nuclear powers going head to head. So it is better to take a cautious approach to it than to try and contain a nuclear fallout later.

incase no other official info comes, we can speculate that british ministry of defence have calculated that first shot will be fired from India towards pakiland, hence limiting their airtime in paki airspace.

This is the only sane explanation. They don't want to get stuck in the cross-fire over Pakistani airspace, so they choose to fly over mainland India coz it is safe, then enter Pakistan through known routes, probably under high PAF scrutiny.

Pakistan’s Bravado is falling Apart


It is in the news that half of Pakistan’s F-16/52 Block have been moved away from the glare of Indian missiles and Indian fighter attacks. Pakistan is trying to protect these from India sniper like missiles which Indian Rafale carry.

Much to Pakistani dismay a JF-17 and F-10C has crashed during routine exercises. Pakistanis would not have reported to crash but Martin Baker, the maker aircraft escape chute reported that. They wish to take the credit for the Pakistani pilot……. Bad news for over confident Pakistanis and bad for their morale if the war is about to break out.

India cannot stop half way; it has to cross the LOC and capture the vital infiltration routes. That may not be enough for Jihadi minded country built on Islamic propaganda. In order to break that Islamic over confidence, India has to capture all areas upto Lahore and Sialkot and most important is to capture the Kartarpur Gurdwara area which is important to Sikh community and was missed by Nehru when the Radcliffe line was being drawn.
