How long will the conflict last ? What will be the scale and intensity of military operations ? Are we going to see large-scale air combat, like the Battle of Mansora (1973 Yomkipur War Israeli AF vs Egyptian AF) or like that of Beka valley turkey shoot (operation mole cricket 19 Israeli AF vs Syrian AF)? In Operation Mole Cricket 19 Israeli Air Force managed to destroy 30 SAM sites with the loss of one F-4 Phantom, then they shot down 83 Syrian Mig-21/23 with minimal loss of their own in just 3 days. In Operation Mole Cricket 19 IAF vectored their F-15 and F-16 to the blind spot of Syrian MIGs (MIGs were having RWR only at their Nose and Tail so they had blind spot at the sides, top and bottom belly of their aircraft) with the help of their E2C Hawkeye AEWACS. IAF jammed communications of Syrian fighter pilots to their ground controllers, rendering them confused, terrified and without situational awareness, Syrians were not having SDR in their MIGs. Hawkeye AEWACS then vectored their F-15 and F-16 towards a blind spot of Syrian Migs. The F-15 used to gain height and fire their AIM-7 SPARROW from a great height, which increases the range of the SPARROW and SPARROW hit the target with more Kinetic energy, usually hitting Syrian Migs on top of their fuselage. The RWR couldn't alert Syrian pilots and death went unnoticed to them. Some Syrian pilots used to surrender their fate to the almighty and would wait for their eventual death, hopelessly circling their MIGs in figure of 8 over Beka Valley. Some 83 Syrian MIGs were shot down, some Russian and Syrian sources claim atleast 15 or so Israeli Aircraft were also shot down but Israelis never revealed their losses. Time will tell If Indian Air Force manage to do the same to PAF but PAF is far more professional than Syrian AF and better equipped on the other hand Indian Air Force lack any significant technological edge over PAF.
