NATO's security guarantee is only in territories actually bordering the North Atlantic (and the Pacific obviously for the US and Canada). It isn't NATO's official stance to come defend the Pakis. They're already stretched thin with supplying the Ukrainians against the Russians and are in fact, desperately trying to establish production lines to brace for a war with Russia themselves. If any Turkish vessel gets hit, the Turks are on their own. They had no business poking their nose where it didn't concern them, pretending to play America while not having a fraction of the military clout to do so.
