Russian Ukrainian War

Russia cant take peace without controlling all of Kherson, Zapho and Donetsk. Because Russia formally annxed it.
You cant stop a war where you aint losing, when you have just declared contested territory as your INTEGRAL sovereign land and you dont control it yet . Like wot de foc. This is how putin gets assassinated by even more nationalist Putin.

no mention of ukraine handing over kherson so far

Because Russia formally annxed it.

they can formally unannex it :D

Cold Winds Blow Over NATO from Washington

What is Europe? It is a land where language, culture, and religion change every two hundred miles. The Romans tried to unify it but failed. Charlemagne attempted the same, with no lasting success. For centuries, Europe was a battlefield of internal religious and monarchy conflicts until colonialism redirected its focus outward. From the 16/17th century onward, European powers expanded their reach, amassing wealth through superior military technology in Asia, Africa & Americas. Yet, even amid prosperity, their tradition of warfare continued, culminating in the devastation of the 19th and 20th centuries. The two World Wars were the ultimate proof that Europe could not keep peace on its own.

The force that finally ended these cycles of war was United States of America, a distant yet kindred power. The U.S. imposed stability, ensuring 75 years of relative peace from 1945 till now. Europe flourished under this protection, evolving into a commercial powerhouse with a common market. America also created NATO, guaranteeing security and keeping external threats at bay. But one European giant, the Soviet Union posed an existential challenge. Only America’s presence kept the smaller European nations safe and prosperous.

This protection, however, came at a steep cost. In 2023 alone, the U.S. spent a significant portion of its defence budget of about $850 billion on Europe’s security, while Europe enjoyed a $300 billion trade surplus with America. This imbalance did not go unnoticed. A new political leadership in Washington questioned the wisdom of such spending, urging Europe to take greater responsibility for its own security and to reduce its trade advantage over the U.S. European leaders, accustomed to minimal defence spending and economic benefits, were not pleased.

And so, a cold wind from Washington now sweeps over Europe. The U.S. intends to end the latest Ukraine war and impose a truce, but the broader message is clear: Europe must stand on its own. Taken by surprise, European nations must now reassess their security and economic strategies. Yet, they are no longer weak. Europe has the strength and wisdom to forge its own future without American help.
US spent massively on Europe to prevent it from siding with the Soviet Communists. It wasn’t doing any charity, but an ideological necessity.

Trump probably doesn’t see that danger anymore and is cutting the umbilical cord. Fair call.

Russian Gas & the Lifting of Sanctions on Russia

With the war in Europe nearing its end, the prospect of Russian gas—once supplying 60% of Europe’s demand before the Ukraine conflict—flowing again is becoming increasingly likely. This would be a much-needed peace dividend for Europe, alongside the potential removal of sanctions imposed on Russia by the Biden administration.

Currently, Europe relies on LNG imports from the U.S. and Qatar to meet its gas needs. However, with local reserves being depleted due to a harsh winter and rising industrial demand, a supply shortage is expected this summer in Europe. Neither the U.S. nor Qatar can fully compensate for the shortfall.

While major consumers like Germany remain politically hesitant to end the war and resume Russian gas imports, economic realities are narrowing their options. LNG is both costlier and logistically constrained, while smaller nations like Hungary, Austria, and Slovakia are increasingly pushing for a return to Russian gas. At present, only 10% of Central Europe’s gas supply arrives via Turkey, as other pipelines remain out of service.

As peace talks begin, one of the key issues on the table will be the restoration of pipelines disrupted during the conflict. In exchange, Russia is expected to demand the lifting of sanctions. The crux of the matter is that while Europe urgently needs gas, it was the U.S. that imposed the sanctions—meaning all sides must find common ground before supply can resume. The return of cheaper Russian gas would provide a significant boost to Europe’s economy.

If Trump abandons Ukraine? He not only abandoned Ukraine he killed, burned and buried it's ashes. There is no going back now for Trump. He committed himself fully. Can he really say if Putin doesn't negotiate that he will go all out and supply Ukraine to the maximum? I don't think so. What could he say? I changed my mind, Ukraine is great again and so is Zelensky? Trump has turned his attention to China. And that's means that Putin will has his way in Ukraine and won't stop until he takes Kiev and Odessa.
It looks like Zelensky will now sign the minerals deal. That means I'm probably wrong and Trump can now back track his comments and once again support Ukraine. I think Trump is in over his head. I don't think he understands Putin or Russia. I don't think Putin will end the war just because trump blackmailed and extorted Zelensky and Ukraine into this deal. If I'm wrong about Putin, then I'm wrong. It's just that I don't know why he would stop the war when nothing has really changed. He was prepared to continue the war for years if Harris won over Trump. To allow Trump to come into Ukraine just to steal it's resources is backstabbed Putin. Trump will backstab anyone to get what he wants and I believe Putin knows that. Putin admitted his biggest mistake was trusting the west. So it comes down to a simple choice, trust the west again and repeat what you said was the biggest mistake you made, or learn from that mistake and not make it again.

Well look at this way US can’t enjoy those mineral rights as long as Russia keeps bombing the crap out of those mines. US needs the war to end to enjoy those mineral rights. There’s no viable path for US to enjoy those mineral rights without Russia’s cooperation. If Zelenskyy does sign this deal he’s stupid beyond belief.
