Looks like the Butcher's Bill is now due for Ukraine.
Lets take a look at the main characters here :

The husband caught the wife in bed with her rich lover and while the lover escaped from the window, the wife and the husband (inebriated and with one hand tied behind his back) are fighting and smashing up the house.
Unfortunately, the wife was pregnant with the lover's bastard and the helpful neighbor jumped in and tried to save the wife but meanwhile his house was robbed by the lover who also sabotaged his friendship with the husband.
The wife filed charges of domestic violence, marital rape, abuse against her husband and was promised by the rich lover that he would support and marry her.
The husband owned a gas station and the neighbor relied on him to run his auto parts workshop. The lover having sabotaged this arrangement forced the friendly shopkeeper to get involved and use his store as a front to supply the neighbor at a markup.
The shopkeeper made a tidy sum and even diverted some gas to the lover. Meanwhile the slumlord, the conman and the drug peddler were harassing the wife's relatives and put pressure on her to take back the case.
The husband and the lover then met through their common associates (shopkeeper, slumlord, conman and drug peddler) and agreed to make amends and force the wife to back away from the legal case through witness intimidation, evidence tampering and threats.
The wife went to her lover who disowned his bastard child and told her to work off all the money he gifted to her through prostitution or else to get lost. The wife then handed the unwanted child to her only remaining supporter, the helpful neighbor, to raise at his own expense.

; but this all seems like (another) pivotal point, where ukraine can go scorched earth and escalate the things beyond control, as they're practically in 'nothing to loose' mode, and russia would equally retaliate and everything quickly just spirals out of control...
