Is it fair to designate even returning long time DFI members as "amateur" based on number of posts in the new forum? Something to ponder for the mods.

We introduced titles based on Army ranks and members complained. Apparently it's disrespectful to forces.

Till we figure out what terminology to use for different ranks, this is the state of things.

Agreed video games based rankings would be the easiest way to go. Even COD has some good one's. Set some thresholds and we should be good to go.

I'm not a gamer guys. Can avid gamers on this forum talk among yourselves and suggest which game's ranks should we use?

For example, lets say you set up contribution/likes threshold then you can use this ranking system. This is from COD Mobile.

You could also implement Rank Resets for users with issues like Multiple Reports, Mod warnings etc if needed who haven't reached the Ban threshold.

ah it's been so long since i last played any ranked game so i'm out of ideas for it, but just some suggestions
- rookie could have a little negative connotation at times like newbie, you know, 'beginner', 'recruit' , 'freshman' , 'novice' , or even 'intern' for zero posters perhaps, are better words
- i think pro comes before elite in ranks but perhaps gaming ranks are arbitrary so anything goes

Yeah it could go Newbie, Active Contributor, Veteran, Pro, Elite, GM and Legendary.

I propose 9 ranks to keep the promotion system deep and interesting, while encouraging positive long time engagement. While being appealing to younger members and RPG enthusiasts.


Learner > Initiate> Seeker > Pathfinder >> Sentinel > Knight > Paladin >> Mystic > Sage

Admins can discuss the milestones necessary to be eligible for a higher rank, and penalties that result in a down-rank. To make the ranks look appealing, color code them and/or provide badges. See sample below.​

Other than "bragging rights", these ranks won't grant any other powers in the forum. Perhaps help a member's opinion to be taken more seriously by the virtue of his rank.​

- Eradicate abuse.
- No logic behind ranks. It's simply useless, but creates abuses.
- Instead, show Statistics about explanation.

Can we have a thread where we track the deceased members of the Armed Forces, along with a link or their banking credentials, to directly support them financially? Well-off members of the group can take this upon themselves. And also, can we make it a sticky thread?
