It's a slow process but the aim is to get there one day with respect to marital rape or same sex marriage or any other white hot topic which attracts unfavorable public opinion today.
Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud has formally proposed Justice Sanjiv Khanna as his successor. In a communication to the Union government, Chief Justice Chandrachud stated that since he is demitting office on November 11, Justice Khanna would be his successor.
Upon approval by the government, Justice Khanna will become the 51st Chief Justice of India. He is set to serve a tenure of six months, concluding on May 13, 2025, before his retirement.

And how can he claim that this is democractic and does not violate basic principles of the Constitution? He is basically handpicking his own successor without any democratic input from the people. This judicial tyranny must end. The GoI must show balls by denying his choice and tell him to step down and let GoI choose the successor as the GoI is the elected voice of the people's mandate.
