To an observer of UK foreign policy since some time, every word written there rings true. Truly , there's no nation or people as vile, crooked & deceitful as the English.

They're single handedly responsible for nearly a dozen hot spots across the globe.

But karma is catching up. They deserve every bit coming their way & more...

...Unfortunately most of us will not be around to experience schadenfreude.

This genuinely makes me sad.

India has remarkably low migration rate, barely 1% of Indian population resides abroad (much of that in gulf sheikhdoms only), remittances are only ~3% of the GDP.

Yes it's good to keep a sense of perspective on this. Probably only 1/20th of 1 percent( and not more than one tenth of 1 percent) of 1.4 billion Indians migrate out of India every year. But in absolute numbers, and in the terms of the ethnic composition of immigrants to Canada, it is very high. It is 1-2 with the Philippines, depending on the year. Philippines overtook India as the largest source 10-15 years ago, India may have regained the top position in recent years. And in number of students, it is certainly number one.

And of course historically, when you go back to the colonisation of the Americas( north and south) Australia, parts of Africa- Rhodesia and South Africa were meant to be permanent settler states- south East Asia and elsewhere, there is no comparison whatsoever between Indians on the one hand and Spaniards, Anglos, Germans, Dutch, French and Portuguese et al, on the other. The large Indian diaspora is a product of 1965 and after.

But the point to be made is that in these times of India booming and growing, it does look a bit odd or incongruous to see hundreds of thousands of Indians migrating out of the country every year.
