Indian masses are what should I say ......... they are kinda dumb.
Most who make such statements don't give a minutes thought on what they are going to say.

We have a opinion about everything but have knowledge and involvement in none.

Absolutely, I have seen statements like "first we need to improve existing infra and then focus on that".....often seen it when it comes infrastructure.

Bad analysis of subject on half baked knowledge, usme bhi alag level ka confidence, not to forget the lack of any self respect and comparisons.

India's the 3rd most networked country in terms of Metro Railways . 400/1000 kms are in Delhi & the NCR . And now there are plans for launching another phase - Phase V of the Delhi Metro which currently is under studies.

Also note none of the Metro Railways at least in the NCR are profitable. The aims of this network are connectivity , mass rapid transit , economic mode of transportation , less pollution , carbon emissions , etc.

Pod taxi has been announced multiple times already at many place in India. Last one was Jewar airport to Noida. Nothing gonna happen with this. There is no economy of scale in Pod taxy.​

Frankly the project itself seems similar to light transit railway like for instance the Monorail which hasn't been much of a success anywhere in the world as compared to a metro.

Then again it's been theorised that monorail succeeds when the distances are short & are meant for last mile connectivity like for instance between an airport & a major railway junction or terminal.

It's much more economical in terms of both CAPEX & OPEX as compared to a metro plus the construction time is faster apart from being cheaper.

Disclaimer - I'm not very sure what a pod taxi is , I'm merely going by the photograph in the said article
