Deng created a society where two hard working parents invest all their time and energy into one child. That one child will now not marry and refuse to support their parents. This is the last generation in China that will experience prosperity for awhile. The demographic crash reduces taxes, reducing growth and productivity. Same thing that happened to Japan will happen to China.

The perceived slow growth of India is a strength because we are not forcing people to choose between civil liberties and economic prosperity.

There is a fallacy in this though. Most educated class are sticking to 1-2 kids which is barely replacement level. The rural populace, majorly the peaceful kind is keeping production level at 4+ per family. In a couple of decades, the demographics will get totally skewed. So, what good is a population full of Abduls? At the current trajectory, we will be a sharia sh.thole in about 4-5 decades max.

Our strength will be in fixing punctures and doing kanglu/paki type jobs then!

Also like, China is totalitarian
Firstly I don't know how this tweet of a comparison between China & India get posted here.

Secondly let's get beyond this cliche of a totalitarian system to explain away all our deficiencies.

We have a totalitarian system too - totalitarianism of the parasitic babooos. Add to that the milaudas gate crashing the party in a big way & what you've is a classic case of the tyranny of the unelected.

You want more ? How about total lack of imagination coupled with centralization of powers at the state & centre with zero devolution of power to the local self governments like municipalities including municipal corporation , municipal councils , gram panchayats , nagar panchayats , District Councils etc ?

I've actually read a book (?) or article long ago which suggested the Mayor of a municipal corporation had more power during the British Raj than independent India wherein power is concentrated in the hands of the municipal commissioner - a babooo .

China's actually achieved this devolution of power long ago & these local self government units function as the virtual bedrock on which the entire Chinese economy is based . Cut to India where the entire policy framing to implementation is controlled thru either New Delhi or the respective state capital with zero involvement & participation of the said local self government.

And we're supposed to be the democracy while they're the totalitarian system.

China the bully has to be tamed

America must move past its resistance to President Trump’s policies on China. Like it or not, China has played the role of a bully—undercutting American manufacturing under the guise of cheaper labor, all while flooding the market with low-quality products. In return, they purchase very little from US.

After years of financial strain, President Trump has chosen to confront the issue head-on.

Yes, the stock market has taken a hit, and some American products may remain unsold—but that kind of pain is temporary. America must seek new markets and diversify its customer base.

These tariffs are essential on China. They must remain in place to compel China to act fairly on the global stage.

God is with you, President Trump.

Totalitarian system means there's no change in government, so they can gamble either way, even if it's results in a few great leap forward famines and what not.

Highly corrupt babu culture also exists there, but in absence of elections, the party doesn't have to think about giving free shit to every deplorable and instead the corruption is taking money to approve a specific contractor to high speed railway etc.

Every dissent group can be strangled instead of spending huge money and effort to only defend against them.
