Pahalgam Islamic Terror Attack

funny thing is, dhoti wearing and sari wearing has the same threat in bengali language :
"kuchki te jodi dhuti/shari badhi tahole tor ak din ki amar ak din "
( If you force me to tuck my dhoti/sari into my front pleat, then its either your last day or mine)
Thats lovely. And also Dhoti clad Shastri and Saree clad Indira fucked Pak up better than any other suited guys.

Then why didn't he war gamed the fuel tank set ablaze?

The best of military strategies e.g. British tackle of U-boats also came of war games. Any idiot can do war game and have a strategy. What would work would depend on the competencies. The example you quoted speaks volumes about competency of that general rather than that war games are unreliable.
the whole idea of 'no war plan survives first contact' is based on the paradigm that you normally CANT game every scenario in war, coz humans are innovative species, especially in do or die and you dont feel the do or die pressure in a war game, so you dont think do or die solutions like Major Kuldeep Singh thought on the spot.
This is why war games are usually unreliable, especially in war games that involves mostly human action, such as army.

Yes, I mean this is basic in Game Theory. In an infinite game, tit for tat is the best. You react positive with positive and negative with negative. No strategy works better than that.

i used to spend time on game theory related literature, but stopped focussing on it after realising that it is too simplistic. it does not account for geography, politics, economies of war etc. which have a major role to play in such situations. no country is a monolith, even a small country like israel is not a monolith, multiplicity of factors influence the actions they take.

it's good only for retired jernails and think tankers moving pieces on a board and impressing their bosses. moreover it was made famous in strategic circles by some murican think tank (RAND i think). a hollywood movie being made on it, should have given us a clue that murican establishment wanted their public to know about it.

I will repeat what I have said many times..
Not one major terror attack has hit Indian economic centres during Modi rule..
This was a norm during Manmohan rule.. and Manmohan freed terrorists to buy time. The foremost duty of any Government is to prevent attacks on its economic centers. Not that attacks in Kashmir and North East or deaths of our jawans don't matter. But, they come second. Of course, no government can publicly state this..

Pakistan has the capability to conduct large scale terror attacks on Indian cities, but it is the fear of Indian retaliation that has stopped Pakistan. Pakistan Army is slowly again pushing the envelope with a few deaths of military personnel at a time, then killings of Hindu pilgrims in Reasi in 2024 with no response. Now they have pushed the envelope further..
If India does not respond with great force, there will be mass casualty bombings in Indian cities again..
Then, Dhando and investment will be impacted anyway..

Pakistan gave reply of balakot airstrikes within 12 hours and banged us in our own Airspace and here are our politicians more than 24 hours have passed since the massacres of Hindus and they are still doing Chai biskut meatings lol.

War games would guide more strategic decisions. For example, the options that discussed in CCS today would have been war gamed. But at operational level, war games wouldn't be relevant.
