That infantry will get 10 times the casualties of a Para SF

I think it will just be faster procurement of new rifles they were anyway getting

Let SF do SF stuff, let them evolve further into their own domain of things
These past 3 years could have been very different if SF was doing SF stuff

New operators should be in these petty encounters? Yes but only as one time thing, just a phase for them to get used to 'Combat'

Why are SF units handling these petty encounters?

Exactly now in the condition when trts are engaging multiple encounter on purpose what in future on 2 front warfare they would do same thing so where will our yes man send thier super soldier to hunt down pigs or fight regular

Now as using para in encounter is common occurrence ghatak are not upto task they need to start introducing more ghatak unit and infantry for this task slowly replace sf in this task in time and in near future use only infantry and ghatak for this role
For room intervention i think ghatak should have enough training in ideal world but still nsg or para would be fine

This was simply a PR visit. NSG and GIGN have held exercises in the past, that's what they are referring to I think.

Plenty have been pointing other deficiencies for many years and it’s no surprise when these guys are needed they fail consistently

I have zero interest in sugar coating anything, this is just the reality for anyone that actually expects the bare minimum of competence

This isn’t about supporting a ‘side’ or jai ho vs Gucci.

More Indian ‘SF’ have died than Pakistanis since the attack

Take away the ‘SF’ tag, they are just cannon fodder for generals and politicians and like you say evidence that those that have power consider every other conventional unit too incapable for even the most basic of combat tasks, the answer in a failed state is to lower the standards of the elite not to make others better

90% of the Indian army’s budget already goes to pensions/salaries, the Indian army’s budget in turn is already ~50% of the ENTIRE Indian defence budget and this fool wants more manpower?

Hard to believe anyone can look at the sorry state of even the ‘special forces’ of India and think there needs to be more of them and with even shittier equipment (that’s what happens when you expand numbers), already they had to pause the MSC raising because they were cannibalising reserve stocks of other units

What's wrong with having more manpower in a job that's manpower intensive ? There's clearly a manpower deficiency in RR, one unit being tasked to look over two sectors in doda is a very herculean task. There is not much presence of capf there and doda distt police is not up to the mark even when compared to terrorists in terms of equipment.

We have lot of excess manpower in many other sectors that can be brought into kashmir
accusing Agniveer for lack of manpower is wrong.
