Makes no sense to target just terrorists in cross-border. You cannot kill every terrorist if Pak army is bent on training and pushing them.

This smuggled fuel might be useful for them for thier armour platform and logistics but what about fuel for aircraft , drone and helicopter in them completely different fuel is used of different grade pakistani doesn't have that industrial complex to make jet fuel if I am right

And even if they rely on smuggled fuel in war time won't we strike on thier fuel depot
Or even if thease porks have stored 2-3 years of oil in case of naval blockade we can just bomb thier fuel storage

Its not a far fetched idea to bomb their headquarter actually. Every time they do some misadeventure we should respond by some heavy artillery and gradually ramp up the radius of our hammering. If we had responded in this manner to other attacks on our forces by openning up our long range artillery i am sure they would have caught the pattern and in a phalgam like attack we could have easily fired at their hq and reminded them they are in our reach.

But unfortunately our focus is mainly in doing only some encounters. There should be a clear response to the porkis that day by day we are increasing the baseline retaliation. Now, we are stuck with thinking what should be the appropirate response. Had we made it clear that anything in 200KM from Border will be in our reach and we will pummel them should have taught them a few things.

I believe salami slicing of POK as response to major terrorist attacks will work.
Say, Pakistan loses a few square kilometers or a few hundred square kilometers after every major terrorist attack in India.
May just work as a very credible deterrent.

As regards bombing the Pakistan GHQ, yes, the option cannot be ruled out.
Geography has made Pakistan very vulnerable. They don't have real strategic depth.

Even in this present phase of hostility if Pakistan strikes an important Indian military target then we need to remind the Pakistan Army of their vulnerability.
Even their GHQ is not safe. We don't need to even risk our fighter aircraft. An MBRL strike on Rawalpindi from bases inside Indian territory can flatten their Command Centre.

I was only listing out the options available to us in responding to Pak provocation.

Yes, counter insurgency/terrorism operations inside Indian territory cannot be the only answer to terrorist attacks. The across the border planners & brains behind the terrorists need to be punished.

Moreover, if the no of sectors and posts are increasing then horizontal escalation is happening. And we are steadily increasing the caliber of guns then vertical escalation is also happening.
