Most of the stuff the Admirals put on ships is not ((( Imported, therefore The Besht ))) unlike a certain other force but considered "good enough".
It's why they still run those AK-630s or the RBU or anything else but with deshi upgrades like Binayak sir has revealed.

I guess they either know they will get a "No" from the babudumb political leadership for importing new sub-systems, or said imports are too messy to get, or they are too expensive or all these reasons combined.

For e.g there was atleast a 10 year drama over the Atlas Towed Array Sonar import/domestic assembly because DRDO was failing in their deshi TAS development and they wanted ((( more time saars ))), therefore on their end they were doing something to block the import.

Now ofc Atlas has signed a 🪛 deal with deshi company so the Arnala class and other ASW vessels will get these.

That's where all major navies including PLAN and USN have moved since the past decade or earlier. Russian Navy is a failure and not someone from where much inspirations should be taken from.

If depth charges are needed for whatever reasons then keep the RBU-6000 launcher with ER-ASR already loaded but with no under deck reload mechanism. The space needed for this will something like the chaff launcher or a bit more than that. The limitation of this is that rockets exposed above deck can explode when damaged and put ship out of action.

LWT missile (with glider) similar to RUM-139 is achievable by DRDO.

Y'all are kanging over more VLS but IN doesn't have a UVLS program in development, max you have is the VLS being developed for the VL-SRSAM.

Ideally they should make a VLS that can fire atleast 3-4 types of missiles, even if all are SAMs and build all new missile models to conform to this VLS spec, some experience is gained with VL-SRSAM VLS development already.

Orders for strategic systems aren't reflected in order books.

Drdo has a facility in Hyderabad which has multiple production lines for various missiles. It has a modest production capacity.

The demand for PDV was so huge that DRDO had issued a RFI for Tech transfer of solid rocket motor for this missile since inhouse production wasn't sufficient to meet demands.

Final assembly is now done by BDL.

And PDV has gone through many enhancements. For instance, a new DACS mk2 is now used in the KKV of PDV.
