If the delay in the delivery of GE F404 engines continues, Tejas MK2 might begin flying while the Tejas MK1A is still waiting for its engines. However, I see a silver lining — if the delay stretches by a year, it could allow time for the integration of the UTTAM AESA radar and the Swayam Raksha Kavach EW suite, meaning all 83 initial Tejas MK1A units could be delivered with these indigenous systems onboard.
 
Tejas and Su-30MKI are currently the only fighter jets in IAF capable of delivering BrahMos missile, India needs Tejas in large numbers.

Elta kit not already ordered, delivered and installed on first production aircraft with more deliveries coming?

Seems that everyone forgot about tejas mk1a after getting orders

It's by design.

All these objectives are being met.

Why do you think i call Tejas, MWF, AMCA wagera non serious projects?

When it is a serious project you get Frigates, Destroyers, Aircraft Carriers, Nuclear Submarines, ICBMs and nuclear warheads 🤡

When it is an un-serious MNREGA and Emergency Import dual-purpose scheme you get

Tbh the went with this new outsourcing model just few months back, somewhere around march.


So it makes sense those 11 aircrafts were mostly made in-house.

L&T was already supplying lca wings in 2020. So I think they were in the supply chain since day 1 not from march-25.

Its very confusing at this point. I don't understand then what change for HAL to mention this in February if they were going through this model..

It was already decided years back

2017-

About 85 vendors (private firms) will be involved in the production of LCA. Some major players are: Dynamatic Technologies Ltd, Bengaluru (front fuselage); VEM Technologies, Hyderabad (centre fuselage); Alpha Tocol, Bengaluru (rear fuselage); L&T, Coimbatore (wings); while the tail fin and rudder will be supplied by National Aerospace Laboratory and Tata Advanced Materials Ltd.

I see then it's probably about additional production line ig. Maybe they want to make a private production line for faster production.

still stand by my point.

Current status quo suits all stakeholders you can name.

Tejas and the other atmanirbhar projects are all un-serious projects.

The blame game is also structured in such a way that it's spider-men pointing at each other.
No one party fears any danda of consequence because they can always point at the other guy


When Kolkata class was getting delayed, which was mainly because

>Admirals discovered the MF-STAR and Barak8 combo and had to mod the previous Soviet maal based design
>While the first Kolkata was built the Admirals suddenly wanted bow mounted sonar and this needed hull changes
>Barak8 was co-developed with jooz so this too faced some delays.

Now when patrakars wrote about this it was the navy only getting the blame, because they were leading the whole project top to bottom, even if MoD babooze, CAG babooze and Politicucks like Chidambaram would ask anything it would be Admirols only getting most of the blame( DRDO guys also get some ).

Only way to solve this 👇

The push for domestic aircraft projects either has to come from PMO/DefMin( Remove NindaTurtle and get someone interested, like how Parrikar was )

or from IAF itself being given control of HAL with their own design group like WDB, ADA guys or just professional aeronautical engineers can be hired for this.

And most importantly, big budgets, ample funding, quick project sanctions.

Remember goys, eventually Tejas will get delivered, but the national focus should now be on AMCA and with the current ((( model ))) it's just not possible.
