HAL should already have F414 engines for prototype. HAL should be held accountable. They should not be able to deflect every time and blame everyone else but themselves.Guys, ITS JUST 4-5 MONTHS DELAY..
There can be multiple reasons but lets take the worst one, Babus being baboooss.. But that is why we just outsourced AMCA to pvt companies and this will be the last time we have delays. We are overreacting a bit in my opinion..
Other possible reasons include
1) GE playing hardball as always and delaying engine negotioations becasue of trade deal (most likely)
2) MoD don't want to commit publicly to GE by rolling out with F414 (whitepilled answer devlopement is on track but not disclosed)
3)They could be trying to add new subsytems in first prototype itself so testing can be fastracked.(Alpha defense mentioned this in one of the videos that 1st proto will be production quality, idk what that means)
Make that 75% CompleteRaunak Kunde claims that 60% assembly of Mk2 prototype is complete in Hal's Bengaluru facility, and November December is the rollout estimation, who is right![]()
Not only that, Admirals have got indigenous air-launched cruise missiles for it's fighter jets (anti-ship) while Air Marshalls are satisfied with 2 squadron each of Rafales and Flankers being able to fire SCALP and BrahMos and now in 2025 are "thinking" of inducting Israeli IceBreaker. Also, Admirals have got their own Hypersonic missile by backing it apart from own loyal wingman programme who's prototype is to be ready by next year and will complete testing and will be ready for induction by 2028 as per timeline, meanwhile Indian Air Force is yet to have an official requirement for loyal wingmans. CATS Warrior is just a HAL product which it will "offer" to both IAF and Indian Navy. Navy has an official programme so it is backing the Abhimanyu project, IAF doesn't. Oh, and Navy also has an official project for high altitude pseudo-satellites for which contract for development is given for Arka HAPS to NRT. Meanwhile IAF has only recently floated a requirement for it, and again all companies building them will "pitch" it to them, maybe competing with foreign OEMs so that typical MMRCA kind of circus repeats again. You can already guess who is going to get it first.I've said this before and say it again.
This is only a time-pass work generation project for HAL/ADA/MoD babooze
IAF is not interested in Tejas/Tejas Mk2 or AMCA
They only want French maal now and American 5th gen Wunderwaffe in the future.
Which results in absolute non-serious execution of this project at every step of the chain.
In other news the Admirals have started construction on an XLUUV of their own design, nobody seems to know such a thing was in developmentbut it's getting built now, this is aside from 16 ASW-SWC and 7x Nilgiris which will be inducted in next 2 years
Construction of India’s Largest Unmanned Submarine ‘Jalkapi’ Begins in Halol, Gujarat - DeshGujarat
Halol: Krishna Defence and Allied Industries Ltd (KDAIL) hosted a ceremonial plate-cutting event on June 10th, 2025, at their facility in Halol to mark thedeshgujarat.com
Admirals have got their French maal's order placed,
they have pushed through the aforementioned bulk orders of ships,
they have designed their own ships( no muh ADA DRDO bad )
they get said ships built via lazy PSU shipyards by being in management ( no muh HAL hasn't delivered from 2011 )
they have had collaborations with the PSUs to get shit done
they have managed to push through Impoorts viafor things they need badly, like that Atlas towed array sonar
Collaborations with Private Sector also to get shit done.
OTOH you have this on the other side of the fence ADA/HAL/MoD babooze/UN Airforce genrols/Mudi being chindi etc etc
