They were laying low, it seems. After the situation with Bangladesh was settled, the insurgency stopped sharply after the early 2010's. Now that the relation with Bangladesh has deteriorated‌, with Myanmar civil war happening. It seems that the Chinese are also heavily helping those groups now.

Furthermore, I have noticed pro-ulfa posts seem to sprung up on Reddit from time to time. And, let's be honest there is still a lot of sympathy amongst some groups for ulfa within Assam.
