> "illegal" copy of muh Avtomat Kalashnikova

so oxymoronic to even think lol, like THE CHAMPION of socialism complaining about their quasi-socialist brethren making a copy of their universally distributed tech

but yeah this was easily thwartable using either MEA babudumbs in giving a diplomatic response, or using MoD babudumbs in buying some truly important ruusi maal like perhaps Kuznetsov instead of Gorshokov and STFUing them about some petty issues like that
Apparently Mr Kalashnikov himself was involved

Not just AK-203, India & Russia to jointly manufacture AK-19 and PPK-20 for domestic use and export

AK-19 is 5.56x45mm NATO version of AK-12 and its incoming here may put any current or future INSAS forks in jeopardy,

PPK-20 is blowback closed bolt "SMG" in 9x19mm Parabellum and it'll similarly make it hard for Asmi

^both are projects that we easily could have should have done here at home using INSAS line already, it's surprising that ARDE DRDO AWEIL niggas sit on local kalashnikov fork designs here while some "ORIGINAL" Ruusi AK gets a chance over them like this

Amethi me faketory dalwana Mr.Rahul Gandhi ka electoral promise thaa ho gya ab, yeh ganimat hain ki woh 2010-some around kare hue waade ka credit lene aage nahi aata (par baki sab tarah ki bakloliya maje se pelta hai)

Trichy already could've become a strong base design if the Army wanted vanilla AK with top rails and other basic modern features, par... khair chhodo 😒

Never going to happen with the Army. Their quota for weaponry has been completed :
  • 7.62x51mm - Sig 716i
  • 7.62x39mm - AK 203
  • 5.56x45mm - CQB Carbine
  • 9x19mm - ASMI
CAPF, State Police may opt for these weapons though.

p.s. what i think is a good welcoming weaponry that should come over here is a fork of PKM in 7.62x51mm NATO, other ok weapon in my view is Chukavin Sniper Rifle or SVCh which already has a variant in that calibre

PKM fork in 7.62x51mm NATO and Chukavin will give us good options in belt fed LMG and Sniper Rifle tenders here

AK-203 urf Sher

@johny_baba any idea if existing INSAS magazines are compatible with the CQB Carbine?

ARDE brochure mentions that new magazines being made of plastic with metal inserts.

yes, it has to be or else it's retardation to not utilise magazines from INSAS (and by long extension those FAB styled windowed mags from FAB upgraded INSASes) on this Carbine

besides this isn't a special magazine custom made for the carbine, it's last iteration of non translucent INSAS pattern magazine from very last variants of INSAS Excaliber that was proudly showcased by OFB successor and pics were shared on SM, even Kunal dada shown that recent INSAS Excaliber prototype somewhere on good ol' D F I

so yes, INSAS pattern magazine only, means old 20-rounder 1B and 30-rounder LMG mags can easily go on this Carbine, or vice versa

this means if armed forces continue to use INSASes in any form, be it regular 1B pattern or with FAB upgrades, they have a chance to standardise on newer pattern magazines with potential induction of lakhs of these carbines as they can "retire" older magazines

Damn, INSAS MK1C looks good. Just few touches at few areas.
