Sachi class was the only attempt to fully privatise shipbuilding in India & that for scrapped... Baki to L&T bana raha hy.

Production started in 2017:

Seven ships of Project 17A class of frigates are being indigenously constructed at
M/s MDL, Mumbai (04 ships) and
M/s GRSE, Kolkata (03 ships).

Contract for these seven ships was signed on 20 Feb 15. These ships are being built using Integrated Construction methodology. P17A frigates would be fitted with advanced weapon and sensors suite and will have enhanced ‘sleek and stealth’ features. Steel cutting ceremony, commemorating the ‘Start of Production’ of First of Class (FOC) of P17A was held on 16 Feb 17.​

Ships looking flush and Nice. Unlike Vishakapatnam, Kolkata and Shivalik class whose design is all over the place like desi homes.
