Indian Special Forces

Some accounts on X suspected AFSOD's presence in encounters (early 2020),

All of the pics of those encounters had PARAs with good gear (cant tell if any other service involved, maybe they also used Army camo at that time)
But no such posts after 2021, Maybe they have stopped using them in usual contacts

iirc two incidents come to mind one was nagrota encounter and the other one sunjwan encounter.. in nagrota one two trucks were there one with usual patka tavor gang and other one with those sprayed m4s and ballistic helmets.. even in sunjwan there were distinct groups one with tavors and the other group with sprayed m4s and mepro mounted pika lmg and wendy helmets.. now im not sure if the tavor ones were from crpf or different para unit but maybe the sprayed m4 ones were really not some normal sf ones

But aren't AFSOD teams supposed to be a mix of para Garud and MARCOS ?

Sunjwan k time toh me whi tha jammu me…koi secret unit nhi thi.
 
Ye mountain_rats ne shayad kuch 'SG is mostly Int. Gathering, AFSOD can/will be for action' (paraphrasing) aisa kaha tha bhot pehle

also two distinct groups of guys from para sf in same frame during sunjwan encounter.. one with usual tavors and ragtag chest rigs and other ones with sprayed m4s wendy helmets and somewhat better plate carriers

Not that hopeless they can form the qrt .
Unit ke khud ka qrt hona better hoga both for admin and psychologically.

I don't really get this tier system amongst teams, the only good source we have that rats guy - he denied anything like that but has contradicted himself on this too

So do all units have this tier system of teams?

Col shiv sir ne bola Tha ki they had an A team , better armed and trained .

Unofficially hoga hi , Har jagah tier system ban hi jata hai depending upon threat level and their capabilities.

Entire Indian Army is based on that.

In a regular infantry battalion you have ghataks and regular troops who are worse than ghataks.

Then some infantry units are well trained and some not so.

So i am not surprised at all if same system is there in Para.
