In the North East 90% to 95% of the Christians are from different protestant denominations and they don't have anything to do with the Vatican.
The Vatican is the seat of head of the Catholic Church i.e. the Pope.
The majority missionary in India comes from american baptists branch and when it comes to represent Christians its usually Vatican aka church which is taken as the core, vatican is namesake for all things church doesnt matter the branch but the core works as a well organized institution , protestant collaborate greatly with other branches also.
And no the percentage of baptists Protestant is not 90-95%, there is no set data for it , what happens in north east is every other tribal community wants to differentiate from other so they adopt various mother churches they never identify themselves separately as catholic and Protestant its tribal divisions only but ultimately the money comes from Vatican, Texas and Scandinavian regions.
