Air India AI 171 Crash in Ahemdabad (36 Viewers)

this aircraft had made regular flights from delhi to tokyo, delhi - frankfurt, delhi - paris, maybe maintenance error from ai engineers?

Maybe to cushion the impact? I remember this point being raised in some Mentour Pilot and TheFlightChannel videos about past incidents where pilots extended the landing gear/kept it extended when it became clear that a crash was inevitable. That's the extent of my knowledge on this matter.

navi mumbai airport location is too dangerous, bird santuary nearby with another flamingo area near dps nerul lake, hardly within 2 km. i pray no such thing happen at navi mumbai airport

If Flaps were not set during takeoff checklist and that what caused all this, then very serious question marks will be raised about AI crew competency.

This is one of fundamental and critical step for commercial pilots, it's equivalent would be like a fighter pilot starting takeoff run without checking that canopy is closed.

AI pilots have a glorious past , not so long ago a pilot of AI have travelled entire distance to US on landing gear not retracted ..
So it wouldn't come as a surprise if this is happening here ..

Actually I flew from ORD to DEL in Feb 2024. Air India is "THE WORST AIRLINE" the planes make you think you boarded a plane from a sub saharan country's airline. 95% of screens not functional. Seats had cooked rice grains (Not cleaned). The Business Class seats too did not recline (LOL).

At this point Indians need to stop this false bravado and accept the facts that India does not have a face saving here.
