Air India AI 171 Crash in Ahemdabad (26 Viewers)

No i didnt take it that way…

But you could put the best pilot in the world and dual engine fail at 400 ft is Goodbye from Earth for them.

True, i think there was only 1 case that i know of survived dual engine failure during takeoff. It was a bird strike, but the United airlines pilot had the sufficient altitude(around 1000ft i believe) to down the plane into a nearby river.

. This one seems doomed from the start.

Something relating to engine thrust at a small altitude caused the crash.

Everything else like hydraulic failure, electrical failure, smoke in cabin etc could not have caused the plane to sink in so fast.

400 ft agl is too less for any pilot to pull off any stunt.
my senior and ta who are aerospace eng students, 3rd year and one is an mtech guy. they said many cases are possible. like fuel pump issues which didnt deliver fuel to the turbine and aircraft dropper. another being the bird strike, but highly unlikely. another was electrical failure which led to controls not working

Ya'll Nibbiars Aircraft Maintained by Turkish Technic not by Air India Engineering.

The contract was ended in jun 1 which is recent . They were already doing some maintenance work on some plane according to the article ...

So when and which company was responsible for last maintenance that needs to be seen. Nothing is confirmed yet ... Yet I believe Some critical sectors must have some unspoken rules which cnt be displayed openly .

Captain sully..i think he was around 3000-4000 feet.

That is not difficult.

400 ft is what 20 storied building?

I am not a boeing pilot.

But on Airbus which is my aircraft there is a very less chance of that bcoz during takeoff we take fuel from the most reliable fuel pump which is gravity fed.

why is everyone on reddit pressing that full runway length was used, what do they mean?

It says that aircraft was not able to generate lift needed to attain V1 (critical velocity at which airliner starts flying ) and attained it very late , at the end of runway ..Pilots should have aborted the takeoff
This further validates flap theory ..

I am not sure if it is engine problem , by looks of it , it looks like a lift not getting generated ..

All this is speculation, and no point in it either....

Sit and wait for investigation report, that will come with more reliable details and will clear up the matter.

It is said the pilot was screaming mayday, but his radio got cut off
Is this because the plane crashed or the plane ran out of power or something else cut the radio?
That is because the pilot is a human being and predicted that he wont make it.

And reacted by taking off the hands from radio and bracing the impact.

Full or close to full runway usage is apparently relatively normal for longhaul flights like 787. This does not really prove or disprove anything
