Akash-NG (Next Generation)

Akash NG details from DRDO website
View attachment 11037

Either the solid rocket motors used in Akash NG are really shitty or the range is being artificially capped.
My conspiracy theory is that Yahoodi lobby felt threatened that their MRSAM sales could plummet so they did what lobbies do best sabotage the program with the help of Armed Forces, nothing else explains the reason as to why the same DRDO who used to mention the range to be 80km, now says Akash NG has a range of just 30 km.
there is no possibility that AKASH NG hv only 30-40 km range, that doesnt make any sense....coz for that range we hv orignal aakash, aakash prime nd aakash 1S. for this range (30-40 km) we hv also older russian sams, israeli spyder, QRSAM nd VLSRAM. if we really need better sam missiles than aakash for 30-40 km, we can make surface to air versions of VLSRAM nd QRSAM for army.

But definitely aakash ng will complement 70-80 km range of barak 8....which is very costly.

Akash Ng is more sort of oriented towards tactical ballistic missiles they can also perform well against fighter But the faster burn rate seems dedicated for ballistic missiles. Kind of our 9m96e which is 330kg and has 40km range as per brochure. Mrsam with sustained boost has 100km range while navy's is faster burn rate has 70km advertised range. The interceptor weights 284kg some say 275kg it in that range the akash Ng weigh 350kg gives an idea. Even if it's fast burn rate it should yield good range against against fighter due to large 250mm dia compared to 225mm of mrsam, along with larger rocket motor. The qrsam weigh 270kg it is also meant for kind of similar job. Also capable of engaging fighters but primarily oriented towards tactical ballistic missiles.

okkkk....but QRSAM is also build/building to counter pakistani nuclear ballistic missiles (like NASR) nd other aerial threats for our moving ground assets. we can make a stationary sam version like aakash ng from that to counter ballistic missiles also for 40 km range. so still a totally new sam missile (aakash ng) doesnt make sense for 40 km.

I edited my post with few additions.
Qrsam for mobile army units akash Ng for airforce
Mrsam was for tri-services akash was inducted only by airforce from 2007 as it went in production but later on in 2015-16 army ordered it. Qrsam was sanctioned in 2011-12 ig. High time we order it.

Some are saying akash Ng is already deployed
Won't be suprised airforce is very proactive in this scenarios back in 2019 we lacked needed bvr the iaf inducted astra mk1 before trials. Some say astra mk2 is also in production without completion of user trials. So yeah here we are.
