AMCA - Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft

Nothing of Chinese make ever works. India knows for sure the working quality of Chinese weapons…. HQ-9 failed, PL-15 failed and many more radars failed. Hence do not worry too much about their stealth fighter. I can guarantee that it will be less than 50% capability of what they say. So relax….. have self confidence.
Wishful thinking my friend. There has been a ton of misinformation from both sides and we can't be sure what failed and why

Underestimating their tech will be a colossal mistake.

Even the US is taking their 5th gen aircraft seriously.

To all F35 and Su57 stans , I need to understand what is your understanding about future wars (with Pakistan only ) will look like ?
Do you think that Pakistan will use J35 and to counter that we will use Su57/F35 and the one who will put a first lock will score the kill .

All this 5th Gen buying is putting a hole in our already deficit funds . We need to build our own 5th Gen and in meanwhile focus on BETTER RADARS WHICH CAN DETECT 5TH GEN .
The moment you will get breakthrough there all 5th Gen tech will go for a toss ..

If it was easier to make stealth busting radars that can be fitted on fighters, nobody would be investing billions on stealth tech.

Btw there are already radars that can detect stealth aircraft, they are just not capable of acquiring locks, so useless in actual combat.

I just don't see stealth to be critical factor in India Pak war..We don't need stealth to attack Pakistan when we can target their installation from inside our airspace

Russia’s economy is significantly smaller than that of China—and even India—yet its military-industrial complex is far more advanced and expansive than China’s. why can’t India develop a military-industrial complex as large and advanced as Russia’s?

Requires strategic vision and planning, as opposed to bluster, bravado and self aggrandizing ineptitude.

Our politicians are the problem, always have been.

In 1947, India’s military-industrial complex was more advanced than China’s. India was also the first country in the world to develop an indigenous supersonic fighter jet—the HF-24 Marut. However, while China continued to invest in its military industry even during its most challenging times, India has not shown the same level of commitment, even today.

Proven beyond doubt hence failed grade is a good assessment.

These low quality weapons were tried by Pakistan during operation Sindoor and failed miserably. Not worth the effort.
There is no denying that Chinese weapons are substandard and low quality. they are bound to fail, as seen during Operation Sindoor. However, they may occasionally function by chance.

Even Pakistanis admit that Chinese weapons are low quality and unreliable. However, because they are dirt cheap, Pakistan continues to acquire them. Their philosophy is: ‘We’ll throw hundreds of Chinese-made weapons at the enemy—maybe one will hit India

Uff, the amount of RR on this thread.....
This new fangled GoI 'plan' to allegedly fastrack AMCA will soon be forgotten and usual delay tactics
by babooz of HAL, ADA etc... will begin.
Until and unless Kadi Ninda and FinMin baboons sanction an FTB and other test facilities ASAP I will not even begin to consider this latest plan as a plan, its just usual Jhumla to assuage or placate #FundKaveriEngine hashtags since bhajipao love their X image more than actual progress on the gound.
You can judge the seriousness of GoI when this alleged 'fastrack plan' does not even mention what plan if any they have to develop an indig engine.

> It's more for Chinese aggression.

> In typical war with typical weapons, losses will always be on both sides of people & assets.
PAF, IAF have not revealed true losses & probably never do it. No country does it in any war, USA in Vietnam, Gulf war, Russia in Afghan, Ukraine war, etc. Only the guessed estimates float around bcoz honesty is good but over-honesty can destroy reputation & business.

> Not crossing the border was non-escalatory measure. But unfortunate escalation can take place & some targets may require us to cross the border, it happens in every war.

> Modern war is not a fair-fight but unfair, assymetrical fight. That's what saves lives of our soldiers & citizens, by doing sudden, precise, quick, decisive damage which should compel the enemy to halt/retreat, go for ceasefire. Thats what you'll hear watching documentaries of all stealth platforms.

Stealth fighter is not invisible but very less visible with very short detection range.
An ideal stealth fighter should be like Ninja.:ninja:or sniper🔭🔫🎯
So at least in theory all its BVR-AAMs should score a kill against 4gen jets. When 4gen get MLUed to 4.5gen then 5gen should get MLUed to 5.5gen, that's unfair, assymetrical war.

> We don't wan't another captured pilot & then tortured, killed stating he succumbed to injuries.

> As R&D continues, sword & shield, both aspects improve. So it becomes cat & mouse, Tom & Jerry game, trial & error.

Under the AMCA project, there is a plan to develop five prototypes, which will later lead to series production. This decision should be considered a milestone in the history of the Make in India program because, for the first time, a mega defense project will provide an opportunity for both public sector companies and the private sector to participate: Defense Minister Shri

HAL will still play a major role however it looks like Private Sector will run circles around them in terms of project delivery and efficiency. Then we can look towards induction by 2034.

Speech was fine. The last line shall surely dampen the moods of anyone in audience.

First, wait for the Ministry of Defence to hum a song — which takes forever. Then, when they finally sing, you must not only dance to every beat but also improvise when they go completely off-rhythm. And after spending decades waltzing to this bureaucratic opera, dare not expect even a decent profit. Just smile, clap for yourself, and prepare for the next episode of procurement paralysis.
