BEL has completed delivery of 100 Control Centres for Air Defence Control & Reporting System (Akashteer). BEL, through its DCCS SBU, started roll out of Akashteer in March '24 and had committed to deliver 100 Control Centres of Akashteer by 30th Sept '24.

The swift deployment of the 100 Control Centres, enabled by the guidance of Army Air Defence, Indian Army, highlights BEL's capability to cater to critical national security requirements and deliver strategic defence equipment on time.

Soon the Army's AAA gun program will reach trial stage. Two contenders are there: BHEL and L&T. The initial requirement is of 220 systems but the overall numbers will be around 1400. The selected gun will replace L70 and ZSU-23.
