BEL has completed delivery of 100 Control Centres for Air Defence Control & Reporting System (Akashteer). BEL, through its DCCS SBU, started roll out of Akashteer in March '24 and had committed to deliver 100 Control Centres of Akashteer by 30th Sept '24.

The swift deployment of the 100 Control Centres, enabled by the guidance of Army Air Defence, Indian Army, highlights BEL's capability to cater to critical national security requirements and deliver strategic defence equipment on time.

1. L70 and ZSU23 replaced by 220 AA guns initially (Two contenders - L&T and BF most likely). Further 938 guns will also be procured in the future.

2. Osa-AK and Strela will be replaced by QRSAM

3. Schilka and Tunguska will be replaced by 103 ADGMS-SP
