Many moved back to India in the Population exchange. The borders were closed by 1951 and Train operations were stopped completly.

So, the figure 30% include many who still could not move back to India.

Yep. But even in 1971, they were 20%.

Will hint you some example--
Have you noticed it yet? all the BJP/RSS/ Bhagwa strongholds are either at the western side of river hoogly or at north. They have negligible presence at eastern bengal... ever wonder why? ( refer to my earlier post- you will get a borderline understanding)
All the so called ' bodroloks'/ 'bongs'/ 'seku' are those with runaway bloodline fearing prosecutions in 47/71/Till Date. And don't seek nationalism from them, you will get none.
Those refugees of 71 s only know how to eat the cream, whenever problem arises they just run away like their predecessors. When they were 30% in bangladesh, they could have'd wave a resistance for existence and their motherland, but.... they just ran away here and when found we welcomed them with open hands, encroached everything. Now when muzis are out numbering them in eastern parts.. they are again running toward west......

Factories are closed indefinitely, courts are closed, police is fending for itself to stay alive, the Awami leaders are hiding, the Hindus will hide tonight, the country is literally on a standstill but they will decide the contours of a new government after 24 hours,

probably because they are tired today and need some time to celebrate their victory
