Putin is not stupid. He didn't try to pull back Ukraine into Russian orbit post-2014 coup. After that he understood Ukraine was a gone case, and his focus was not letting it to join EU and NATO. Since for joining EU, Ukraine required to have a undisputed border, Ukraine's claim over Crimea and civil war in Donbass ensured that Ukraine won't be accepted into EU. OTOH, when Zelensky started pushing for NATO membership with sudden switch of stance, obviously being emboldened by Biden admin, Russia decided to hit back. The Ukro-Russo war in 2022 began because Ukraine wanted to break the status quo. 2022 was a punitive expedition which is nothing but a defensive offence by Russia. Russia delayed because they knew the cost would be high and the cost turned out to be high and far reaching.

As for Indian army, what makes you think the IA doesn't have plan prepared for this eventuality?

I will bet IA has prepared plans for every eventuality from occupying PoK, destrying Islamabad and Rawalpindi, retaking Tibet to taking care of Myanmar if insurgencies turned into war. So obviously they have plans for Bangladesh. All such plans get revised periodically based on new inputs and new geopolitical developments.

As for saving Hindus, it may sound crass to you, but India's priority cannot be saving Hindus in BD at the cost of its own national interest. Especially when there is no visible strife going on in BD, and the oppression of Hindus are carried out surreptitiously and with little hue and cry from Hindus themselves. The muted protests barely makes to even this side of the border, and for military intervention to happen you need voices to be heard across the oceans.

Also, what kind of stupid idea is to make BD a landlocked nation by occupying the BD shores? You cannot surround a hostile nation and hope stay unaffected. Also, do you think India is like USA that it can brush off the consequences?


Any expansionist move by India will cost India economically and a nation with 140 BN people won't take such a step lightly just because its neighbour is acting up.

To do a right and proper SMO, we need to widen the Chicken's Neck corridor by grabbing a major chunk of the Rangpur division, some districts of the Rajshahi division and cut the Chittagong division in half by invading south through Tripura and blowing the bridges on the Feni river, this will allow us access to the port city of Chittagong and the rest of that province.

The limits of our SMO should be on the natural, God created boundaries of their rivers

The upside is this is coming when BD is literally hitting the doldrums. The downside is this will be weaponised by the Islamists there as Indian conspiracy.

The further downside is the mass unemployment this will create which will put pressure on malaun lungis to migrate here .

Things are coming to head much faster than I anticipated . I was under the impression we'd face this from the 2030s onwards though it'd have been best had we faced it a decade or two after the 2030s.

If we tackle the China problem successfully that's just one little problem from what we're going to face later throughout this century & if we don't unite organise & prepare we'd face a repetition of what we've faced the past 1 millenium.

I really wish we could nip this Kanglu problem in the bud but then our fate is having a 3.5 front war in the future i guess.

The reason for doing that is if there is economic collapse in Kangladesh, they will completely flood over the border. Unlike Pakistan border, its much harder to shut off the Bangladeshi border.
