If I put my Alex Jones hat on, j-36 & H-20 might be the same aircraft i.e the first Chinese stealth bomber.

I've been hearing about H-20 since time immemorial and it's always some table top model or wind tunnel model that's been presented as a proof of it's existence

China doesn't have the capacity for now (within a 2030 time frame) to build an intercontinental stealth bomber like B-2 or B-21.
(This doesn't mean they can't build a stealth bomber in 2040-2050 time frame. Infact J-36 is a stepping stone towards the same)

So they did the next best thing they could i.e j-36. Which takes care of the region which is has most immediate threat of going hot, south china sea and Tibetan peninsula bordering India

Now why would they create this H-20 psyop distraction ?

H20 is on the way, it's from XAC, the bomber maker. J36 is from CAC the fighter makers, it also produced J20, J10, JF17

China always did more talk less, and so if H20 project was mentioned many times publicly, it must be there.

Like the 003 076 Air carriers, people talked about clues, then they came

Let's see what happens and when

But another question rises.

Does china actually needs the ability to hit mainland usa?
Even if they can successful destroy some facilities on the west coast of usa, east coast is still good.

Us does need b21 and b2 as it has to fight a china's door step, but China will also fight as china's doorstep in case of Taiwan invasion

And j36 is more than enough for Guam and other us islands.

So does PLAAF sees enough value in h20 bomber to justify it's development and production cost? Or Is it better to spend that money elsewhere?

The big size of J20 (huge internal fuel) already implied the target during 2011-2030 situation was for Guam islands which means the 2nd island chain. I think the J36+J50+H20 are designed for Hawaii islands, which means China wants to push the US to the middle of Pacific Ocean, for the America continent, i think will be rocket force's job.
