It used to be like that in india when we were studying in school . Once our teacher beat us for no reason with stick just to release his frustration. The revenge was taken by some people wearing helmet at a dark street 😂 .... These days you can't do that . Teacher don't beat like this anymore .
I have seen in Indian movies that it is very common for Indian police to hit

people with sticks. Is this allowed by law?

Depends on the region and context. If it's for anti-riot purposes, yes. And obviously, some cops are drunk on power, but is it common? No.

Honestly, I have a question too. Usually I don't find any Chinese who are willing to communicate. I was reading some Chinese Novels, a few years ago, and it seemed that "Face slapping" (打脸) seemed to be a common theme. Is it actually something Chinese people fantasise about?

Also, How big of an issue is the bride price (彩礼)? I see lots of news (mostly clickbaity, but also real news and comments about these), about the sky high bride prices, and the bride family humiliating the groom family a lot, from rural regions of China. Is this a big issue there?

P.S. For those who don't know, Bride price (彩礼, cǎilǐ) is a traditional custom in China where the groom’s family presents money, gifts, or property to the bride’s family as part of the marriage arrangement.
