U.S. drugmakers and biotechs have come to rely on Chinese partners for manufacturing, research and ingredients. Now, some of them are looking for alternatives as geopolitical tensions rise.

From big pharmaceutical companies such as AstraZeneca to small biotechnology firms like Amicus Therapeutics of New Jersey, which is looking for a non-Chinese company to supply raw materials for its rare-disease treatment, the companies say it is time to reduce China risk.

Xi Jinping’s Latest Food Security Push Begins in China’s Fields

The vast nation has a fifth of the global population but less than a 10th of the world’s arable land. Beijing wants to adjust the imbalance.

Looks like our Chinese posters have given up on defending Chinese food security. Change of topic back to Chinese EVs
Food is a very relative concept because the diet is based upon cultural aspects.

Malnourished people exists in every country, even in highly developed countries highly processed foods or poor diets of sugar and fats, affect people.

India 9% 29.5%
Mexico 9% 19%

For example India and Mexico have the largest % of veterinarian population.

In Mexico however there is a large population eating beef but in India you do not but you have the largest cattle population in the world but it is mostly to produce milk.

Obesity is not a sign of wealth to the contrary modern diets of highly processed food or junk food have a direct economic relation, the poor eat always more junk food and this happens in the USA as well a any other country.

A vegan or vegetarian diet is cultural and what you show is India has a culture that could easily eat more beef than China but due to culture you have more vegetarians, in Mexico it is similar many people are vegeterians reducing the amount meat is eaten.

Americans have a tendency to eat more beef and chicken than Chinese so no way China eats more beef of Chicken than Americans they simply eat more shell fish and meats considered in western cultures as taboo such as dog meat.

There is no way China competes with western diets since eating fish per capita is higher in western countries

lol the minister reprimands the German dude. Saying they won’t buy German machinery.

This is a bad example to push propaganda

Instead of saying like that, the minister should have said, "Since China is blocking those, it is forcing us to look at alternatives. Would you consider moving the factory from China to India or even build a second factory in India so we can avoid these kind of issues? India will be the largest market for decades. It would make complete sense for the German company to open a factory here. I will help you and this German factory get all the necessary permits and land in record time."

I feel like the minister already said this and was given the cold shoulder. At a certain point the German needs to digest that India will be a big customer and access to Indian market will be blocked if they don’t setup a factory there. The same move that China did with them in the 80’s

Yes but the minister was on record being recorded so he needs to say what I wrote and then in private channels make that kind of threat saying if Germany don’t play ball we will go somewhere else that will provide us those machines or build a factory in India to make those machines and Germany will lose a lot of business.
