Deepseek is based on Meta Llama 3.3 which already is open source. LLM creator control’s the data its trained on which in deepseek’s case is what is officially approved by CCP.

The inherent bias in all LLM’s training data, irrespective of geography, shows there will never be ‘accurate’ knowledge.

Deepseek is no doubt extremely capable going by test reports and very disruptive to the ‘AI establishment’.

Microsoft is already working on adding capabilities to replace its default OpenAI LLM with ‘3rd party LLMs’ into its office 365 suite due to stagnant revenues. Sam Altman, Zuckerberg and co will come under price pressure soon.
