Army can now directly issue notices to remove online posts​

Before this notification, the Indian Army relied on MeitY to get unlawful content related to the army forced taken down or blocked. ​


New Delhi: The ministry of defence has notified a senior army officer — the additional directorate general (ADG) of strategic communication in the Indian army — as the “nodal officer” who can send notices, including takedown notices, to social media intermediaries about illegal content related to the Indian army and its components under Section 79(3)(b) of the Information Technology Act.

Before this notification, the Indian Army relied on the ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) to get unlawful content related to the army forced taken down or blocked. (HT PHOTO)

Nothing egregious in any of those screenshots. If the generols and the govt are so thin skinned that they can't tolerate the slightest bit of criticism from a small forum with barely 600 members, then well what can I say.

If only they invested all that time on improving the armed forces instead of policing the social media and forums.

Every single person on this forum is a well wisher for the armed forces.

Instead of mollifying him or reasoning it out @haldilal laughed him out which must have further irked hellfire .

Best you guys intervene with him thru DM on twitter @hit&run ; @Suryavanshi ; @SKC

This has the potential to cause enormous damage including shutting down this forum .

Meanwhile kindly exercise strict moderation especially when it comes to making unfounded allegations against the armed forces else shutting down the forum will be the least of your worries.

In other news for some strange reason Failed State of Pakistan & Idiotic Musings on Bangladesh thread has gone missing from the board.
