People wear shoes into their bedrooms. The same shoes they have on when they go to public restrooms where strangers pee on the floor. Some Americans wear those shoes to bed or on their couch.
Now if you live in big metros where people pee and shit on the streets, you are dragging that into your home. Need I need to go into detail about tenderloin district of SF?
There is a reason more Americans died of Covid than Indians. It’s the hygiene habits and cleanliness.
In India, you leave your shoes at the door. Wash your hands and feet regardless of whose home you go to.
The shoe thing is household dependent. In India, I also wore shoes into many peoples' homes and they did the same thing. In America, if you go to a hotel, it is clean. In India, the bedsheets are sometimes not even cleaned. In India, I took a chartered "sleeper bus". The blanket itself was freaking disgusting and unclean. In the village, the bathroom had spiderwebs all over it and was frankly scary to be inside. I couldn't brush my teeth or shower in the village because of how unclean it was.
In America, you can blow your nose and your mucus will be clear colored. In India, you blow your nose and it's literally black.
Covid is irrelevant here and frankly, I would not be surprised if the numbers (for both countries) are inaccurate.
You are taking legitimate criticisms very, very personally. This is a serious problem with Indians.
India is a filthy, dirty country. Indians do not have respect even for their temples or their holy rivers. I directly witnessed multiple Indian men throw trash onto the street or into a river rather than use a dustbin which was merely 5 feet away. My driver told me "This is what they prefer to do. One person told me, 'How will I tell you I'm from Delhi if I don't litter?'"
Stop making excuses and step up to the plate. India is filthy.
Edit: The mucus thing is applicable to ANY American city. New York, Los Angeles, Houston, St. Louis. It doesn't matter where you are. Your mucus will
never be black
Edit 2: There is a distinction between personal hygiene and civic hygiene. Indians have absolutely zero civic hygiene. Do you know what a line (queue) is? No Indian anywhere I was ever was able to stand patiently in a line. In fact, I stood patiently in line at Gangotri mandir only for some idiot to tell me she was with her uncle who was two people in front of me and as such had to cut me.
So what? Is your time really so valuable that you cannot respect a line? Just disgusting behavior.
