Chit Chat

Everybody is doing little for India. Be the change you want to see is the old adage... Critiquing everything under sun is old mughal/colonial indian past time. Indians must let go of this baggage and work, ideate on solutions.

E.g, make garbage collection profitable - you will have cities clean. Make landscaping and greening profitable and competitive - you will reduce dustiness.

Well I recall a story narrated by a DFBer on this forum on how they complained to the city about cleaniness and they tried to respond but the union raised a ruckus even though they would be getting more money (they just want more money and not do any more work) and then it went back to the old ways and nothing changed. So it is not really about making garbage collection profitable. It is about changing the attitude and mindset.

The story in the media makes as much sense as any bollywood movie.
Looks like he might have gotten caught doing something naughty with the maid and the missus poked him

Doesn't matter. Wife needs to be apprehended. After all, the feminists have been demanding equality. Well, here's your chance to prove equality does mean equality before the law. So let's see the woman handcuffed in chains and hauled before a magistrate.

Its 2025 and fellow Indians must understand that India isn't going to look like Eurozone and Umrica purely because of population density. At worst we can replicate singapore in terms of infra in our top cities and that would still be undesirable for most or us.
The dream of 2000 sq ft carpet area and additional 3000 sq ft of perimeters with swimming pool, garden, garage and driveway is not replicable with the density we have.
Delhi is always going to he dusty since it was so even before its inception due to geography
Streets are always going to look jagged since our structure are made of strong materials and ment to last a century and hence cannot be dismantled quickly.

At best we can replicate korea, japan and singapore.
Wrong.
It’s peoples culture and will of politicians and their visions.
We lack it. Accept it.

Gloating 24 X 7 about people, culture and politcian on SM won't fix it either.
You are not gonna get awards for stating the obvious.
Tell ke how is it feasible to build decent western style infra when people are already housed in well settled permanent houses throughout the country.

All we needed is multiple Tier-1 cities than Just Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyd and B'glore. There should have been atleast 20-30 Tier-1 cities by end of 2000s itself.

Not only just 20-30 cities but these cities should have been spread out over greater distances in between and connected by Golden Quadrilateral type of Highways allowing quick and easy access.
