Chit Chat

my sincere prayers to Ishwar that if it's destined to happen anyway THEN PLEASE MAKE IT STRIKE ON KANGLULAND
We gonna lose a lot in collateral in this case.

@SKC To drive traffic, i suggest create subsection of Gaming esp for FPS, military strat. @johny_baba, @COLDHEARTED AVIATOR can suggest more. Last serious games i played were max payne, early nfs, virtua cop, contra, mario ...

I also suggest new sub forum for div computers and electronics, models planes , 3d printing etc.

@Anants - we need our existing Membaraans to share the link of the forum with their friends and colleague and create account here.
Admins are now actively monitoring the New User requests queue and approving valid accounts.

There should be one in Members corner already. Let me have a look.
With member corner it becomes private. Have a separate technology, div, games public sub forum i think?

Mate thats why i suggested create sub forums for new kids who are fresh out of college and would like the topics - other than popular insta ones

So that people come for games and slowly start participating in other discussions.

Well, that's not the purpose of the forum. This is a defense related forum where we can discuss few other topics too.

Yeah believe SKC the topics I mentioned are common among people who like or eventually get into defence and strat too :) Just check how much cribbing in Special forces is derived from COD exposure? :)

We can make a dedicated thread at best, maybe create a sub section in members corner but that would need gaming thread to he really active.

Are Maalik...lol on this; the thing least in this form is defense. Every other thread is more or like an "Idiotic musing on something".

This forum needs good clean-up on regular basis if we really wanna highlight it. Making it more trustworthy source than Alpha and IDRW is another story in itself.

Anyways, if you really wanna increase member count on this forum then this "WhatsApp pe Jai Mata Di likhein aur teen dosto ko bheje" thing's not gonna work in the long run.

The best option in my opinion is creating a Twitter account of DFB and you all Admins and Mods deciding among them who's "moderate" enough to have access to that handle. And by tolerant I mean someone in between writing "Joy Hind" on every post and "Bloody Generol".

Have subject matter expert for each topic; you can't match @johny_baba in small arms, @Anants is for electromechanics and whatever new tech is there, @Unknowncommando is already a benchmark is pics from forces back since Facebook days, @vampyrbladez is in boaty stuff, we already have established handles like @fire starter @dfi_pk @Fatalis @AGNI 6 ICBM @Arihant Roy with excellent connections so if they write stuff then their existing base would get attracted. Use them

As we'll increase our visibility on different pages like Alpha Defence of ADGPI or logically, in a civil manner (this two points are of utmost importance, otherwise this whole scheme of mine you backfire in the most spectacular of ways) engage with the likes of Mons Rattus and AGM-114; we'll increase the traction here on this page.

Just my shitpost idea, nothing serious

Mate I am no electromechanics expert - just have varying interest sometimes. I was just intrigued and encouraged by your really technically erudite postings - it just encouraged me to read bit things out of my comfort zone. But I do recommend again you to take moderator or curator role for Defense Tech - especially all things Electro Mechanical and Design. Given the Nature of this discussion that you posted in last(highlighted by me) - I suggest you take up this role along with @Bhartiya Sainik who will balance your Doodling skills with his 3D editing skills - while you can moderate his smileys and make his huge content to crisper text. Seriously Together you can produce front page worthy articles and shall be force to reckon with just like Jatin - Lalit Duo :)

You can place it anywhere but make it public. Coerece, Force @johny_baba to make regular posts there :) Introduce Google Bots for that subsection only - and then pray for Gen Z to pick up the crumbs

irrespective of number of topics, traffic comes from quality of discussion and information.

i had run this experiment multiple times, during peace times when ever i temp banned pathological doomers en masse, quality of discussion improved and traffic comes. when temp ban expires, pathological doomers do their ususal rr, traffic goes down.

doomers don't need a lot of info to trigger and spread their doom and gloom , but folks who want to learn will need a quality info to convince them to spend time here.

Today as education has improved & more surplus professionals available, Fresher to CEO are expendable.
But communication & presentation skills matter everywhere.
I'm a low IQ average guy who does time pass watching documentaries & on various types of tech forums related to my IT job, aviation, military, heavy machines, etc rather than gossiping, watching cricket, netflix, politics, etc. I use emojis for just some humor (website maker can disable them anytime), otherwise lots of different things bothers different types of people. Personal comments & slangs bothers me a lot. On certain forums i'm just an observer bcoz they don't like Indians or use too much slangs, get personal, out of topic, etc.
A moderator's personality is like school-class-monitor, event organiser, SME, TL where discipline, communication & presentation skills matter a lot.
Hence a forum like website's popularity depends on how members behave.

Or better Create Cribbing thread and people can nominate posts for the cribbing thread. We can also nominate cribber of the week depending upon no of posts. I myself shall win few though :devious:

As @ezsasa says content, nature of posts and quality of discussion matters. Really frankly for me DFB is warms up after one of the @Ayan Barat @Binayak95 @Chinmoy @Charlie @Azaad @COLDHEARTED AVIATOR @rkhanna @ezsasa @Arihant Roy @dfi_pk many others from Special forces thread post some Technical /Statistical/Tactical insight.

Use AI but refine it with your thoughts and post here o DFBIans :)

By the way I am lowest among low and posses no skill - just post random musing, grumbling and sometimes from memory what I read somewhere.

ara bhai...

i will try but i'm getting busy in my lief here, also my teligram is down since that day i mentioned that i shall share my contents to yogya paatra someday, kisi manhoos ki najar lagg gyi 😒 what happened was I was sharing some of those contents to a fren there aur yeh saalaa aasteen ka saanp 🐍 muje report maar diya  that i'm spamming...and teligram put me on a week's cooldown period and logged me out of my devices...i did put a 2FA password but well...i forgot it 🤷‍♂️ and as i never put any recovery mail there teligram is only giving me two options - either remember the password any way possible or reset it, and reseting would mean loss of years of contents, which is unacceptable to me...

so i'm trying to brute force my password every some hours, erasing out unsuccessful ones on this sheet of paper here, i still have good 1 year of period to recover it, after that, it'll be over for me :smiley-crying:

so i'll try to contribute about stuff i can, but unless i recover my teligram password, it'll be limited

There are specialized forums already available for the stuff which you are requesting to add here. Our novelty is the Defense discussion, and we want to keep it to that only.

Anyways, if you really wanna increase member count on this forum then this "WhatsApp pe Jai Mata Di likhein aur teen dosto ko bheje" thing's not gonna work in the long run.

We have had this discussion before. Things have changed drastically in last 2 decades. Back during 2010-15 era people used to search for forums like us and sign up and continue discussions. But now People don't like to sign up anywhere. Their attention span has decreased and get distracted easily.

Twitter has become one place for all things, and most don't bother to join anything else.

We have to now force people to join us and even then, they don't really patriciate and forget after registering. I got few to join but they rarely logs in.
