Fuck man, I was in Pahalgam few months ago

Few things I noticed :

• Old generation (boomers) hate Modi & love Vajpayee. Also they will support PDP / NC over BJP even if Modi gives them 10 Cr.
• New generation doesn't care much and are happy that tourists are coming and business is booming (dhandho).
• Police & Army presence in upper reaches (where tourists visit) is minimal to nonexistent. I saw a single Army post of ~20 personnel in the middle of nowhere.
• I saw suspicious persons (well you know) roaming freely. Yep. We were advised to mind our own business and don't get "involved", this is between Army and them. Apparently they will not bother tourists and we have no business getting involved in the politics of Kashmir.

So yeah, these types of incident was waiting to happen I am afraid.

How do you compare 'aggressions'? Do you want to compare the number of casualties? Do you want to conpare the number the number of terror attacks each have had to cope up with inside their respective borders? Do you compare k:d ratios?

Per SATP, we fare better than them in all these metrics - it is not even close.

How about this for starters? Their Army Chief said that they are in a religious war with India.

Can the Indian Army come out and say they are a Hindu or a Dharmic army fighting against Jihadis?

Acknowledging the ideological roots would be a good start. Instead we have these dramebaazis

India is i believe the 3rd or 4th biggest chemical industry producer on planet earth.

Yet for some strange reason, we cannot find a SINGLE desi patriot who will dump some cyanide or toluene or strychnine into the jhelum or chenab.

Why hasn't GoI heavily invested in cameras and drone surveillance in tourist areas? It may not be possible to deploy forces everywhere (Manipur, W.Bengal, LoC, LAC, Anti-Naxal operations, etc) but you can have helicopter based QRTs to intercept terrorists.

I think Home Ministry foresaw this issue and deploying/raising CRPF COBRA units here was a step in that direction. This would have freed PARA SF from acting as QRT for CI/CT ops.

We are arguing on 2 different lines.

Indian Army needs to first acknowledge the fact that it's a religious war.

Right now, the messaging is, Muslims are good, it's only a small % of extremists who are the problem. The 95% mullas agree with the 5% extremists. They just don't act directly.

Once you acknowledge the reality, IA can deal with the issue better.

What is the IA going to do to the locals in this area? They aren't innocent. Does the IA have the balls to set an example? Wipe out the village when an attack takes place. Let's see how willing terrorists would be to repeat it again.

Right now, if I was in the terrorists shoes, I'd be happy as I know that the virtue signalling Indian Army won't touch the locals.

Tourists are being attacked because tourism boom is an indication of normalcy which the inbred pakroach subhumans can't tolerate. Lesser tourism = lesser income for locals and hence more frustration against the Government indirectly. Pahalgam is one of the most popular destinations with various local, national and international properties. Modi needs to take this seriously, as I it's a lot worse than Reasi bus attack (with all due respect to the victims).

NDA 2.0 & 3.0 has been failing my expectations to each year to levels I didn't assume was possible.

Will there be retaliation ? I don't think so. We will chase the terrorists, kill 2-3 and declare it as our victory. Modi & Rajnath will kang that we took our revenge, India will forget and move on to watching Big Boss.
