Based on the 2021 deal, the unit cost of the Tejas Mk1A was $43 million, now factoring in inflation and weakening INR, it would be roughly $50-52 million at most.
Tejas Mk2 should not cost more than $70 million.
It depends on the deal.
We're the weapons bought with tejas? Like bombs, missiles etc, or separate order for these?
We're the spare engines bought along with tejas?
Did the deal include setting up training and infrastructure for mantinence or are they already present?
all these were/will be bought/set up independently of the tejas order.
If we Include these cost in the deal then per unit cost can come close and even cross 100+million dollars.
Now extra cost that foreign jets will always have.
Have to pay extra for integrating indian mission computers, data links, avionics etc,
Have to pay extra to integrate indian weapons, if mission computers and avionics remain foreign like I rafale.
Have to pay extra for tot and opening domestic production line, if we make a deal like su30mki one.
Have to pay extra based on how much % of foreign jet will be domestically manufactured.
