I was the biggest advocate of desified su30 with super sukhoi upgrades but since I heard the hal staff call recording that super sukhoi upgrade will require 5 years for ioc i have given up on this idea.

In my opinion this was churan for awam they said 12 new ordered su30s delivery will begin in 2028. Ig that should be time when su30 will receive major upgrades because those won't be having older russian avionics. Ig by 2029 radars upgrades of su30s will begin so imagine if this is taking so long the certification production will take much longer for su57 it will coincide with AMCA mk1 which is much better stealth platform

They didn't even tried to ask Israelis to use a 2a42 gun which we actually use and manufacture, no they are still using Nato MK44 gun, just like the foolery of using M2 instead of NSVT on the naval rcws which we are using.

The akash 1s is almost twice the weight of akash NG also because of its hybrid rocket ramjet propulsion. While akash Ng weights 350kg 250mm dia
mrsam weight around 280kg 225 mm dia and qrsam weights 270kg.
Akash 1s has 700kg weight
But hey as per drdo all indigeneous ones have 25km range.

I had read on dedicated missile website called missilery something that sa6(2k12kub) the one akash is equivalent of with similar design similar propulsion system had 24-28km range in 60s, of later iteration I have heard 19 nautical miles (35km) I think sa6 went through 3 iterative improvements in later ones I have read it could engage fighter targets upto 55km this was in 80s take it with pinch of salt but such a large missile with ramjet shouldn't have just mere
30km range.

In case of akash It seems real thou missile with this size & ramjet should sustain for this long perhaps even more upto 70km against fighter size target considering the fact that technology has improved alot over the period we must have developed improved sustainer fuel.
Imo akash should go through improvements with new technologies we have developed like a much better ramjet solid fuel of astra mk3 that has 19% higher impulse than meteor missile.

Better newer lighter actuators, seeker, avionics and whole of electronics improvements in warhead with sebex 2 explosive which has 2x tnt power.
This will improve air defence capability significantly.

QRSAM was ready by end of 2021. But it looks like there seems to last minute scope creep from the IAF to add them into their AD Systems to protect Air base. Otherwise QRSAM should not be delayed for 3 years, since it ready for production long time back.

IAF also operates OSA-AK system like Army so for their replacement they might be ordering QRSAM.
