TASL presented the model of same howitzer in 2023.


"A spokesperson for TAD told Janes that the company developed the MGS to meet the requirements of the Indian Army under the Field Artillery Rationalisation Plan. The Indian Army seeks at least 814 MGSs under the plan.

According to TAD, the MGS comprises a 155 mm/52 calibre gun mounted on a Tata 8×8 high-mobility vehicle (HMV). The gun has a 360° traverse angle and an elevation arc of -3° to +72°."

360° traverse angle means same configuration as old denel defense collaboration howitzer shown in pic.

There is no point for Tata or Mahindra to invest in WHAP unless they are targeting export

I will hold on my judgement until the deal happens and Javelin is delivered. If import dalals have their way they will even import the shoes and clothes. Recently, a bureacrat was caught asking for a bribe from drone manufacterer who supplied drones to the army.

We already have imported Spike Anti-tank missile from Israel. Can't these morons adopt our systems even if they are lacking in some aspects until a better version is produced? We have already made NAG and Helina, can't they wait until remaining trails are over? What is the hurry to induct these systems now with dollars? Isn't there a more urgent acquisitions for army other than this?

For AAM you have Igla, Stinger, Starstreak( from al-Britaniya )
For Anti Armor you have Spike, Konkurs, Milan and now Javelin

It's most certainly a Drdo project. And no 45cal arty has been made by them. Easily they will optfor atleast a modified Atags or ALTGS, 52cal. I doubt Drdo will be using someone's else cannon.
